    1. [JOB] Notes on How Albums work
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Notes on how the NEW albums are working ---for the ones being placed at Picasa (mine, Randy and Tracey), do note that when you click on an image, there is a MAGNIFYING GLASS icon to the left of my name, Ann. Eventually I'll put a photo there. You click on this icon and you can easily read the image. Also, if you click on DOWNLOAD PHOTO, it does download to the original size that I posted to YOUR COMPUTER which you can then open to view in original size or save. Also when you open up a particular album, note on the right, there is an icon just under Search photos, which says size which has 3 sizes you can set for the thumbnails. You may want to experiment with this with what you prefer. I've also left the DOWNLOAD ALBUM, an option here, on the ones that I'm doing. This link can be found at the LEFT BOTTOM - under the album description - just above my name. The last time I checked, Randy and Tracey both had this same option. Actually I find this option very useful - especially for the ones that Randy has been doing, since he has been adding quite a few new things as he goes along. He doesn't have to send me the New ones, I just go there and download the entire new album for backup. Also for those running Explorer 7, there is a place to click on to receive RSS feed, like a blog. Anyone want to know more about this, go to your menu bar, click on help and then RSS feeds. If you're not using Explorer 7 - this will NOT be available to you. Both Picasa and Fotki have slideshows you can see - which are extremely nice for the photo and memorial albums. Freida's, since her captions are so detailed, are really beautiful using this option. Fotki does allow longer captions that Picasa does. One thing that Picasa doesn't have is the option that Patti and Freida and Lorelei has at Fotki. They can put their albums into folders and since they have a premium site, there storage space is much larger. At Picasa , the site is free, but there is a 1 G limit, which for a fee can be upgraded. Also you can go to Patti's main entry site at http://public.fotki.com/my2kidsmom/ and you'll get a nice outline of all the families she has done. (it is getting quite large as you can see) but extremely easy to follow or go to a particular album from this page. You can go to my main entry site at http://picasaweb.google.com/ajobebrown but I wouldn't advise it since it takes a while to upload - plus they are in RANDOM order and would be very hard to follow from this page. You're much better to go to a particular album from my main Joshua 1 (Enoch site) or Caleb site or from one of my index pages - which will soon be in all the search engines. ------ And some of the suggestions and complaints that I've had in the past have been taken care of. -----So far all the places the albums have been moved to have NO sign in or password to remember if you are just viewing an album ___Most of the album are being divided and now actually reflect what is in the album. ------You can go to my main Caleb or Joshua site and quickly see if there is anything posted in an album for a particular family. If this family doesn't have their own album and is posted in a parent's album, it will say see that particular album. No more wondering. -----And somehow you were searching a search engine for your family and ended up at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/herman_carl_green.html First thing you see at the top of every index page is Jobe Legacy - but you had no idea that you even had a Jobe connection. You click on that you're going to automatically know that somehow you must descend from Andrew Job Jr - but you're wondering HOW. This is a Green - Cooper marriage. Under the heading of the couple, there is a lineage which goes back through the Green family - so you quickly surmise that it is Herman Green who somehow descends from the Job family. Clicking on each of those names that have links will take you back to a place on the main Jobe site where if you didn't even know about the Jobe connection will probably be writing me very quickly. Also each index page has under the album link who is managing that particular album and an e-mail link to that participial person. Also every index page has my e-mail address on it, in at least one place - sometimes two. Also every index page at the bottom has an icon image you can click on that will take you to at least 3 of my sites - usually my personal page, my main genealogy page and the main Jobe site. On my main genealogy page at the bottom, there is even my mailing address. Also, on the main Jobe links at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe.html under the photo banner, there are the names and e-mail links of those who are maintaining albums and who are helping in transcriptions and link verifications. I will soon be removing the notes about imagestation and asking for volunteers on two of the sites, since they are basically covered. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_joshua.html#Enoch_Sr http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_caleb.html The note will remain up on the main site and for Andrew Jr's other children - that are in desperate need of volunteers if their albums are to remain. If anyone (Patti, Freida, Randy, Tracey, Lorelei or Charlotte) have anything else to explain their site better - please go ahead. Thanks, Ann (Jobe) Brown
