As most know, I'm now working with vista and a new computer. In case anyone is wondering, FTM 2006, version 16 will work with vista, however, there is a patch that you must download and it tells you about it immediately and asks if you want to download it. The next big hurdle was to figure out how to go about making a gedcom, and getting it uploaded to World Connect. I have 14 major files on World Connect and 7 minor ones. When I tried it like before, it wouldn't work as the gedcom couldn't be located in the FTM program file where I saved it before. With Vista, when you save the gedcom, you have to save it to your document folder and upload it from there. No problem, and easy - once you know, but frustrating when you don't know what the problem is. To be honest, so far I really like vista, but you have to give it a chance and get used to it. I have to set it up to remind me to do backups and will be doing that once I get used to my new all in -one. I've now updated 6 of the major files.
