    3. Happy New Year! For those of you who are following the family of James M. Jobe and Margaret Stone, s/o Enoch Job and Lucretia, today in the mail I received the obituary of the son-in-law of James and Margaret, Jacob F. Maugans. I had written to Logan Co OH to see if I could secure obits for he and Margaret, but only was able to obtain the one for Jacob. According to the death record in Logan Co he died in 1901, NOT 1900 as it is given on the cemetery stone. It also states that they were married October 20, 1860 and located to OH in 1861. I had that they married Jan. 24, 1860, but upon calling to Jefferson City, MO. to try and secure a marriage record and was told none was returned for the Jan 24, date, I have decided to use the date given in the obituary. Jacob and his family are listed living next door to the James M. Jobe family in Jefferson City MO in 1860, his family came from Logan Co OH. I am not sure what they were doing in MO, but seems they all returned in 1861. This would have been the beginning of the Civil War so that may have had something to do with it. Please find listed below the death record and obit for Jacob.
