    1. [JOB] LDS Film#568060 - Brick Meeting House and Andrew 'The Hermit' Job

    3. As some of you know, one of our Job(e) cousins, Eleanor Orthun, as she gets an opportunity, has been reading and transcribing parts of old films. One of her latest has been LDS Film #568060 which is primarily about cemeteries and Chester Co., PA church records. She has transcribed a few paragraphs on various pages which mentioned the Brick Meeting House and Andrew 'The Hermit' Job. (For any who might now know, this Andrew was born Oct 15, 1771 and died January 4, 1863. He is believed to be buried at the Brick Meeting House. This Andrew was the son of Daniel Job and Mary Brown who married October 26, 1758 at the Nottingham Monthly Meeting at the Brick Meeting House. Daniel was the son of Thomas Vernon Job and grandson of Andrew Job Jr. Rather than try to deal with this 'plain text' that we're forced to use with the lists, I've made a seperate page for these transcriptions. The link does appear on the main links page and it appears right under the Job(e) Legacy icon and before the Researchers link for Andrew Job(e) Jr. *By the way, Eleanor, we really appreciate and know how difficult it can be trying to read old micorfilm and handwriting and especially one that seems to jump around like this one does. This is something that many of you will enjoy reading - even if you don't descend from Andrew Job Jr. Many times I have seen various quotes about some of the things mentioned here, but, until now, I had always wondered what was the 'original source'. I do want to stress that Eleanor is still researching the film (as she is able) and updates may be forthcoming. She has, however, given me permission to post her discoveries so far. For those wanting to go directly to this page, it can be found by clicking on the link below: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/nttg_min.html *I would also like to say that she has also found on another film, of old tavern licenses of Chester Co., PA, one for Thomas Vernon Job and the Blue Ball Tavern. For this one, she has sent me a scanned copy as well as a transcription. This will be eventually going into the Thomas Vernon Job (s/o Andrew Job Jr) records album. Ann (Jobe) Brown
