    3. 1 December 2003 Happy Holidays! I have decided it is time to pass the list on to another, and am very pleased to announce that Ann Brown will now be the "New" list owner. I have enjoyed being the owner for the time that I have had it, and I hope in some small way I was able to contribute to your research. Since Leon has retired, he wants to be able to go and do things and not be tied down and that means me also. So it has been a pleasure and I want to wish all of you the BEST Christmas and New Year EVER! Keep searching and please help me "Welcome" Ann and to continue helping her in the future. She will be taking over the Job Family Albums as well, so be sure and keep sending her those family and cemetery photos and documents. God Bless all of You! Your Job / Jobe Cousin Freida M. 1. [JOB] Still a team!
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Just want to say that I'm very proud to be the new list owner of this list. As everyone knows the research of the Job and Job(e) family has been my life's work - over 35 years now devoted to it. However, this isn't something that I really wanted and I'm quick to say that no one will miss Freida more than I will. More than that, she became a friend to us ALL! Right now, I'm feeling pretty 'low'. When Freida wrote me on the 26th and asked me to take the list, my birthday by the way, it was a real shock, but a request that I couldn't say no to. But it sure wasn't a birthday present that I was hoping for. In fact I've just been in shock for the past week and really haven't felt like working on the family at all. Sure hope something breaks soon - to start the 'thrill' of research and posting of data once again. I do have lots to put in the various albums. But as I've learned from years of research, it is the 'sharing' and 'friendships' that develop along the way that become important. Finding data, and then not having that great friend to share it with - well it is just not the same! You find this big clue, solve the mystery that you've looked to solve for 20 or more years, and you just want to shout to the world - to someone who shares your zeal and excitement. Well hopefully at least some of you know what I mean. This is a very informal list filled with friends who care about each other. We are all striving to learn as much as we can about the Job and Jobe surname and to link as many families together as possible and most of all to make these ancestors of ours become much more than names. This is what Freida did with the albums and which I'll try to continue. Sometimes it isn't just the time that a person needs (as I do have quite a bit of it) - but the emotional support and encouragement that I get from you. Meanwhile, please feel free to post your Job(e) lines. When checking the list tools, I did notice some e-mail addresses that I didn't recognize - so there must be some 'lurkers' out there. I do feel that we have one of the best surname websites that are out there and it is through us all working together that the site has grown so much. Hopefully, it will continue to grow - but remember I'm only one person. I need your old pictures, scans of yours records, etc. I was taught early in my research to share freely and that is what I've always done. Believe most of you know my Job(e) line, but in case you don't it is: me, Earl Frederick Jobe (1919-1981), Jesse William Jobe, Caleb Jobe, Jesse Jobe, Eli B. Job(e), Isaac Job(e), Samuel Job and Dorcas MacKay/McKay, Caleb Job and Barbary ?, Andrew Job Jr and Elizabeth Vernon. I lived most of my live in Texas before coming to Ontario, Canada in 1972. My own Jobe line went from Oregon Co., MO/Lawrence Co., AR to the Collin Co., TX area in the 1870's and then in the 1880's to Foard/Wilbarger Co., Texas. During your holdiay visitng, please keep an eye out for the old pictures, letters, etc that could bring these Job(e) cousins and ancestors of ours to life. They are much more than names - each had their own struggles, their own joys, ambitions, saddness and happiness. Though life as we know it as changed through the years, I've discovered that people and families, in general, change very little. And in each of us is a little bit of them which has passed down. Let's try to stay a team and work together. Ann (Jobe) Brown [email protected]
