    3. Greetings, A new database has been added to the State of Missouri website. This is soldiers who served in Civil War, War of 1812, and WW I. I searched for the surname JOBE and got several hits, and many names I recognized. Here is the link to search. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/soldiers/ On the Civil War soldiers, you will be able to view their enlistment card and you can even save if you have Adobe 6.0. On the War of 1812 you can view and save the record book where the names are listed, so there is more than one person listed here, which could be a real PLUS if others that married into the family also enlisted at the same time. On the WW I record, it is typed and will give you a lot of detailed information, such as where he was living, where he was inducted, what state he was born in, what unit he served in and how long, if he served overseas and his rank. On the file for Alva S. Jobe it gives all this plus his mother's name, Elizabeth Jobe, and that she was living in Kansas City, MO. and that she was notified when he died in 1919. There is much here to learn on our JOBE line if you do not already have this information. Good Luck and I hope you find lots of new information for your Missouri JOBE. Freida
