My connection is the North Carolina Jobe path. Our genealogy "holy grail" is to find documented evidence for our connection to Andrew Job, Sr. or to whomever the real link connects. My lineage below: ???? 1) John Job(e), Sr. (~1750--1814 to 1829+) married Elizabeth Ruggle (~1745--????) 2) Samuel Caruthers Job(e), Sr. (~1777--1859) married Rebecca Price (1796--1858) 3) John Harvey Jobe, Sr. (1826--1896/03) married Nancy P. Gleghorn (1825--1896) 4) Samuel Andrew Jobe (1848--1914) married Nancy Agnes Butler (1849--1915) 5) John Riley Jobe (1878--1959) married 1st Lillie Mae Anderson (1875--1931) and 2nd Ruby Hudson (????--????) 6) Grady Samuel Jobe (1911--1970) married Annie Lee Hallman (1908--1986) 7) Grady Sherman Jobe (1936) married Joyce Annette Hamm (1938) {this is me} For the past several years I have derived enormous pleasure from the interactions we have via this Internet communications. I thank each of you for that and especially I thank Ann for what she has done. A short (I hope) story: Thirty-three (33) years ago I received a letter from Katherine Reynolds in Houston, Texas asking for information on my Jobe family. At that time in my life I had no interest in genealogy and did not respond. After my mother died in 1986 I became interested in collecting information for my son (for years later when he would have an interest). To my surprise, I enjoyed the research and the information I was able to collect. After some period of time I was not making much progress. One night I decided to search the Internet for the name Jobe and select 5 names at random to send a "blind" request for information. One of those five names turned out to be Ann and she responded!! Can you imagine how I felt when I learned that as a teenager she had worked with Katherine Reynolds in Texas on Jobe research? And that she had tons of information and was willing to share. Information to which I had not contributed when asked in 1971. And I had connected with Ann in Canada. An amazingly small world!! Sherman
