    2. Hi Anne, Thank you for your reply. Yes, the place where Esther's marriage took place is in Wales. I 'm not sure what information you would need for a family group sheet for David Job. I should proceed to find the baptismal records of Esther Job who was born before the registration of births in England and Wales began in 1837. {The marriage certificate of my great-grandparents, Samual THOMAS and ESTHER JOB show that they were married in the Registry Office in the District of Neath in the County of Glamorgan and Brecon, Wales, on 17th February, 1855.  Esther's age is 19 and her father is DAVID JOB, occupation, weaver.} Marion USA In a message dated 5/27/04 8:28:46 AM, [email protected] writes: > Hi Marion and welcome to the Job list.  You sent your message the 'right > way' but there was a problem with the server Yesterday morning.   I know of > at least 2 others that didn't get through then..  Are we talking about > Wales? > > I need you to send me the information that would appear on a family group > sheet for David Job so I can get your information added to this page > > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/notandrew.html > > *Warren, would you know of anything that might be able to help Marion. > > Ann > >

    3. Greetings Marion, With the information you have allready is a good place to start from, question, do you have a LDS (Latter Days Saint) church, with a family history section attached near where you live...??... if you do, that is good.... the gals there should be like ours here in Australia, pretty helpfull and resourceful in assisting newcomers...(they do not try to impress their religion onto you).. ...at their family history section, they would have a good collection on microfilm and fiches, DBMs, on USA, CANADA, UK and Europe, and maybe Australia( sometimes we hear that folks stateside have problems in finding where we live and the language we speak...etc...) You would be able to hire in for at least one month, the Parish register (for District of Neath in the County of Glamorgan and Brecon, Wales) on microfilm... now this comes in good news and bad news... bad news first, (1) if there is no parish registers, it only means that the LDS church was not given permission to photocopy the registers (2), if they photocopies the actual registers, it will be in the actural handwriting of the clerk and signees, ( if so, be prepared for heaps of XX's, as signatures) and plenty of eye strain. Good news, if someone have already transscribed into written text and photocopied, great and pleasing to the eye.. Once you have the parish register, them you would be able to go backwards in tracking down your lost relies, and maybe make a connection in with Andrew JOBE ??? way back in 1650s... ..approx. speaking you would have about 5 generations on your tree, by going back through the parish registers (depending on their early records ) back to 1400's in some areas, depending upon the local church and mility at that time frame in history when they had civil wars, strick govt rule and taxes, and finaly neglect by the clergy. 2) Check out www.familysearch.org and you may be able to pick the family up in one of the UK census at occured 1861, 1871, 1881 or 1891 ( note that the UK cenusus is one year behind USA etc.) also note that there are some other onsite cenus sites.... thats for later checking to see if they have moved address, occupation, and household members... If they came to the States, towards the later half of the 1800, you would be able to check out Ellis Island site, and see the ships manisfist of whom came to USA and other important questions that is require for them to fill out. Well kido, thats about all i can think of that may be of use to you, good luck in with your research, and if you happen to find a Reginal / Rignold JOBE born c 1640ish and disappeared, please let me know, other wise i have put him down to be a alian who just happened to appeared in Gwennap Cornwall on his wedding day in 1672. regards Warren Job Australia -------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, May 29, 2004 12:36 PM Subject: Re: [JOB] JOB (to Marion) Hi Anne, Thank you for your reply.
