Virginia Jobe Mathews informed me today that her brother Valton Jobe passed away this morning in Nacogdoches, TX. He has corresponded with many of you on this list and one of his great pleasures was receiving Ann and Alan into his home during their visit back to Texas last year. He was a good Christian who loved everyone and his Jobe cousins especially. His funeral will be in Nacogdoches, Wednesday, at 10 AM. Roy Jobe
As you can see, I've been adding quite a few things to the albums for the descendants of Samuel Job(e) and Dorcas MacKay. Everything that I had scanned and in a folder to post for this family should now be posted. If you sent something and don't see it, please write me personally at ann@personainternet.com I'm also been dividing and renaming a few of the albums for these descendants - which I will not announce to the list - unless a new photo or record is added. So if you had something bookmarked and now can't find it - please check Caleb's site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_caleb.html Next I'll be updating some indexes for some of Joshua's descendants that Freida added last week. These Freida will announce as they are updated. Afterward, I'll be moving on to Jacob and Nathan - the two brothers of my Samuel Job(e) - all sons of Caleb Job. I have several items in a folder to post for these and much more to scan. I was just recently sent by snail mail over 60 death records from the 1920's for the Bacons - of which I can at quick glance identify. Also have several things on a cd, especially tombstones, to get posted. Right now I'm trying to get the things that have been saved for quite a while in a folder posted - before starting on the ones that I have to still scan - so these will get done first. After a very hectic fall and witner, things have quieten down a bit here and hopefully I can now get better organized and caught up. Beside the Job(e) lines, I also have a lot of other lines that I'm trying to work on. Ann (Jobe) Brown

I just got this in and I placed Jobe family in the search box, 22 came back. Bren If you go to: http://archivegrid.org/web/jsp/index.jsp and input Coweta County, GA in the search box, 26 entries regarding Coweta county are returned for items in university and other archives around the world. One may also put in family surnames and get a wealth of detail. If your surname happens to be the same as some county name however, be prepared to wade through a lot of non-relavent detail. What I did in one case was to use the search term format of surname family which excluded the county records. Perhaps someone will find a clue to their own personal family history, if not at least it is interesting. I certainly have.
