    3. hmmm, do rootsweb lists have members bouncing now and then like yahoo lists do? Patti Well some strange things have been going on with the list. The letter I just received was just sent. However, in the last 3 days, I know that I sent several which so far have not come across and as of yet do not appear in the archives. Have been quite busy the last few days updating. When I checked the list tools, my own address was no longer there so I had to resubscribe myself. I tried unsuccessfully last 2 days to resub myself when I saw all the letters from Freida in the archives that I had never received. Finally this morning I was able to put myself back on and the time was able to. So you may get quite a few letters at once and out of order and if you hear from someone who says the list has been quiet - they may need to check password central to be sure they are still subscribed. If you get this - you are subscribed. However you may want to check anyway for your other lists. 3. I just can't begin to tell you how sad this makes me. He was a wonderful man and I enjoyed working with him in every way. I have been with the JOBE family online now for 9 years and Val always was there to help in anyway. I never had the pleasure of meeting he or his wife, but know that my prayers are with them and all our JOBE family, we have lost a great cousin and friend. Freida Wells KS Roy Jobe <rjobe@cox.net> wrote: Virginia Jobe Mathews informed me today that her brother Valton Jobe passed away this morning in Nacogdoches, TX. He has corresponded with many of you on this list and one of his great pleasures was receiving Ann and Alan into his home during their visit back to Texas last year. He was a good Christian who loved everyone and his Jobe cousins especially. His funeral will be in Nacogdoches, Wednesday, at 10 AM. 3. oh man, now you really made me cry. Thank you for telling me what he said, that was very sweet. Val was such a lovely man and I thoroughly enjoyed his friendship! You're so right, you never know how much a little something can mean to someone else. God bless his family and friends--we were all BLESSED to have known him a short time or a lifetime. Patti Patti, When we were there, he told me at least 2-3 times how much he loved getting your personal messages and updates and really felt like he knew you. He told me before he went to check his e-mail that he had to go and see if Patti had sent another update. Your letters made him smile and laugh and would brighten up his day. He looked forward to them - listening in the kitchen to hear the bell ring to let him know he had an e-mail. If you're not on Patti's little mailing list - you might want to get on it. She sends some very cute 'clean picutres' that you can even show your grandchildren, hear about her chasing cows and other critters, her boys entering 4-H competitions, Will's army training days, and her rather exciting life. Often times, we really don't know the 'effect' that we have on others. Ann

    3. What a beautiful tribute--you've got me crying, too. Patti Roy, Please give my sympathy to Rose, Jenny, Bill, yourself, and the others. Know how much he will be truly missed. Anyone who came into contact with Val had to love him. He was a real treasure and an example for all of us. Each day Val celebrated life and his love for God, his friends, his immediate family and his 'extended' Job(e) family was clearly shown. Yes I'm sitting her crying, but having met Val and hearing his Bible Study that Sunday morning, we have to feel a bit joyous also. He has really gone home and is having one great reunion. And just like the song, 'A Soldier Has Gone Home' I heard yesterday in church in honor of one of our previous ministers who recently passed away, this song certainly applies to Val. He was a 'true soldier', living his life to the fullest, showing Christian love to all, and yes he has gone HOME! And like Allan tells Philip when he leaves on field training or a deployment, "If you get home before me, Save me a place - See you later!" It is never Good-Bye. Val - see you later! Love to all, Ann
