    1. James Alfred Jobe - Milly Norrid Records album divided
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. The records album for James Alfred Jobe and Milly Norris is now 3 albums and all the links can be found on (new images will be added as I get a chance). Abraham Job's site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_abraham.html ------- James Alfred Jobe - Milly Norrid Recors http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/jas_alf_norrid.html ------------ Arabella R. 'Belle' Jobe - John W. 'James' Bittle Records http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/belle_jobe_bittle.html http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2102812652 ------------ Nancy Catherine 'Kate' Jobe - Carroll N. Norred Records http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/kate_jobe_norred.html http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2102814143 *Judi, I'll be working on the photos next - dividing them.

    1. List changes coming
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. *First of all if you write me in the next few days and I over look your letter - please write back. I'll try not to - but right now, since I'm subscribed to two very heavy lists, which are about the list updates, and I'll stay subscribed to them until I know my two lists are working ok - after Thursday and then will get off of them. Since most are deleted right away, it is easy to delete one that I really didn't intend to. *DIGEST SUBSCRIBER: If you're a digest subscriber, by default setting, the way that you receive mail will be different than the way that you've been receiving. From what I gather, it will be one letter of plain text which could contain several letters on it. For AOL users, this is suppose to be good. However, some people liked it when they received one letter with several attachments and could read the subject lines quickly and reply back directly to one specific message by just clicking on reply instead of having to copy and paste an address. For now, I'm going to leave it the default way (remember none of this takes effect until sometime WEDNESDAY). However, if you prefer the old mime way, then you can write me personally at ann@personainternet.com and I can set each person's way of receiving digest the old (mime) or the new way. The list administrator will have a choice (before there was no choice) But let's let all the digest subscribers get at least one e-mail the new way so they can compare. For us, either way shouldn't be too bad as digests are usually only 1-4 letters. However, on some big county or common surname lists, etc - they could be 10-30 letters at once. *REMEMBER, if you get no mail from the list on Wednesday, check the archives FIRST, if a letter appears there and you didn't receive - then WRITE ME personally.

    1. Re: [JOB] List Changes: PLEASE READ
    2. Patti
    3. wow--that is a lot of changes, hadn't even heard about it thru the couple other rootsweb lists I belong to. Maybe cause they weren't A-C lists? Anyway, thanks for the information, Ann. As always, you are amazing for the work you do. Freida, thanks for your tireless work. Randy, thank you for your work! Patti Hi everyone. Hope everyone has had a good summer. Though many of you are already aware of the 'move' of Rootsweb lists, I thought that I should give you a 'sample' of some of the changes BEFORE it actually happens. Rootsweb will be changing the JOB list to new servers on Wednesday, August 23, 2006. As many know the A-C lists were migated yesterday.

    1. James Jobe - Catharine Pitt Records
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. *First of all - SPECIAL THANKS to Freida for keeping the albums online. She does pay a yearly fee in order for us to view the images at full size (and without being able to view at original size - the records would be useless) If you use these albums and appreciate all the actual records, photos and memorials that they contain, it wouldn't hurt to write Freida a personal THANK YOU occasionally. *Though the heirloom, Memory Lane, Letter, Special Tribute pages, are on the Rootsweb server and maintained by me as part of the enormous Jobe website (close to 2000 pages now), they also were originally Freida's idea and she has put in a lot of work in them. Without her encouragement, ambition and determination, these pages would not be a reality and they add so much in making our family history come alive. I want our Job(e) ancestors to be more than just names. --------- I just divided the records album for James Jobe and Catharine Pitt at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/pitt.html http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4291285965 His son, James Alfred Jobe who married Milly A. Norrid now has his own records album http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/jas_alf_norrid.html http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2102853504 At this time no new records were added. Next week, I hope to divide this album further and I do have some new items to add to it. Also the photo album for this group will be divided. As I may not miss all these album divisions - please check the 'proper child' of Andrew Job Jr from the main links page. For Andrew Jr's son, Abraham, the link is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_abraham.html -------------- *I know Freida is in the process of dividing many of the albums for descendants of Enoch Job(e) Jr. and eventually the rest of Joshua's descendants. For Andrew Jr's son, Joshua, the link is at Enoch Job Jr http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_joshua.html or Moses Job http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_joshua2.html ----------- and as I get time, I've been doing the same for my Caleb Job. Link is at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_caleb.html ------- If I get special requests for Andrew Jr's children, (Abraham, Jacob, Thomas Vernon Job, or Patience MacKay) - I'll move them to top priority. 1. List Changes: PLEASE READ
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Hi everyone. Some of the changes, that you as subscribers, need to be aware of are: 1) Address Change: Note the L and/or D will be removed. If you have mail filters, you should set them to allow mail from the list as: JOB@rootsweb.com Both email addresses will still work for a while for sending e-mail but you may not receive it if you don't change it in your address book. The new form is strongly recommended as the old form of addressing will eventually be phased out. If you've set-up filters in your mail box to sort messages from the list, the [JOB] prepend to the subject line will remain unchanged. -----Present address JOB-L@rootsweb.com -----New Address as of Wednesday August 23rd JOB@rootsweb.com *You will still be able to click on REPLY to a letter from the list and reply directly to the list, as this is how I set up the list. If you want to write only to the poster, then make sure you remove the list address and replace with only the poster's address. However, if it concerns Job(e) genealogy in any way - make sure it goes to the list. As most of you know, since this is a rather small list (just over 50 subscribers) and we are all very close and many have become friends as well, I'm very lenient and relaxed in what is posted. Just be careful of any really personal messages that should be send only to one person. *Since there is no Jobs or Jobes list, and the JobE spelling was originally Job, I encourage conversation on ALL of these spellings. As most of you know I also manage the Job and Jobe Rootsweb message boards. There will be come changes forthcoming on them as well. The JOBE rootsweb list is managed by Randy and we try and work very closely together. Randy and I are both subscribed to both lists. 2) Bounced Mail (mail which for whatever reason cannot be delivered): I won't have any advanced warning if your mail is bouncing until I receive a notice that you've been unsubscribed. Under the old server, I often received many notifications of bounced mail . This will no longer happen and I will not be aware of a problem until the system disables your list account due to the number of bounces. This problem is most often caused by a subscriber changing their email address and forgetting to unsubscribe from the old address or due to having a full mail box. I will have some control on the number of bounces before being unsubbed. If you ever think that you've been unsubbed or not receiving the mail you should, please check the Job archives. Since ours is a small close-knit list where I know most everyone as friends as well as family, you can also write me directly at ann@personainternet.com (If you're one of our regulars and you are unsubbing - it wouldn't hurt if you wrote me DIRECTLY and told me why - new e-mail address, sickness, vacation, other interests, etc). Otherwise, if I get a unsub letter, I may be writing you and asking if it was a mistake. 3) AOL Subscribers: "After the list is migrated it is imperative for AOL users to check their spam folders and if they find list mail there they need to be sure to CLICK THE *THIS IS NOT SPAM* link to send the list mail to the inbox. It is VERY important to help train the filters and let AOL know that this new servercan be trusted." 3) Subscribing to BOTH list and Digest Mail: You can still subscribe to both list and digest mail, HOWEVER, not from the same address. If you are now subscribed to both, and do nothing as of Wednesday, you will only be subscribed in list mode, receive everything as it is sent. If you prefer just one or the other mode - then choose the one you want - NOW. If you want both, then do what I did, use the address you use most often for list mail and a secondary one for digest. I'll be subscribed to both as I need to know how often the digests are going out. 4) The "subscribe" and "unsubscribe" methodology WILL BE changed subtly (effective Wednesday, August 23rd) . These commands ---which should be sent to the JOB-request@rootsweb.com ----- should be typed into the subject header rather than the body of the message. Keep the subject to just the one word required and leave the message body empty. 5) Mailman, the new server, will only allow one 'footer' or 'tagline'. Before we were allowed 10 that would rotate. Haven't decided YET what this will contain - but will more than likely be a link to the MAIN - Job, Jobe, Jobs, Jobes Link page. 6) as list administrator - there will be many changes on the utilities page for me to get used to. Thank goodness I should be home on Wednesday and Thursday of next week and get everything set up and running smoothly. I may be sending a couple of test messages on Wednesday and will be letter you know as soon as our list is moved over. *Hopefully I've covered the important items. 2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Like Freida says, these 'special sites' such as heirloom, letters, memory lane, tribute pages have a special place in our hearts as they help to 'reveal' a bit about our actual ancestor or cousin. These pages do take longer to load on slow connections (and there are a few like Stan and Jill who have no choice) - but the wait, I believe, is really worth it. Please send those photos and descriptions (similiar to what is posted) to Freida or myself and lets get some more sites made. For now, I'm limiting this to anyone whose names appears in LEGACY (only because there is only one of me and Andrew Jr is MY direct line). Someday I do hope to expand it also to BRANCHES. But if you're not part of LEGACY, and do have a site displaying items, please send us a link as we would love to see it and I'll find a page to place the link on.. Also, we on the list would love to hear about any special treasures for ANY of our Job(e) family. We're very anxious to see and hear about those treasured items that have been and will continue to be passed down. Ann (Jobe) Brown ann@personainternet.com

    1. Heirlooms of Jobe Descendants and their Families
    2. Freida Wells
    3. Greetings, Well the wait is now over. Ann and I have the first two pages of the Heirlooms Tribute done. I have worked hard on getting all the wonderful things that I have over the years photographed and now have a lasting memory of them perserved to cd. This is also a great thing in case a disaster what ever it might be should happen. Just be sure and place the cd or DVD in a safe place so it will not be destroyed. This inspiration came about a few weeks ago when my Mother gave me more items of my Grandfather and something she had made, only I never knew until the day she gave it to me. The one thing I knew she had was the tool box that my grandfather carried his paint and papering tools in. He was an interior designer and did a lot of papering and painting for people. In later years he just painted signs for local businessmen. The other thing she gave me was a foot stool that has been around ever since I could remember, first at my grandparents home and then ours. Well the day she gave it to me she told me she had made it in high school in 1940. This just blew me away as I had no idea she had made it. I come up with a lot of ideas, but this hit me like a bolt of lightening. I invite you to take a peak at my treasurers and you can see how I did them. I look forward to seeing yours because.......Unlike the gedcoms tribute pages, family photo albums, and all we have done, this really shows who these people were and their everyday lives. What they did for a living and what was important to them, and now those things have been passed on to us, for us to tell our descendants of and the joy they brought into our ancestors lives and now ours. Heirlooms of: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/heirlooms/myers_puck.html Mary Augusta Myers and Eddie Clarence Puckett Mary Alice Puckett Freida Marie Null My grandparents and mother who is 83 years young now! 3. Randy, Try pressing the control key and then use the plus and minus keys on your number key pad to make the print bigger or smaller while on the internet. Melinda By the way, does anyone remember what key to push with the mouse roller to increase font size? In the last couple months my vision has gotten so I can't read small font. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Your differing ideas were good too about backing up. I am gonna learn to do that first with this new model and relocate the CD's I burn to someone else's house for safe keeping. I'll be back up to speed in a few days. 3. OK I'm back kinda... Tha data migration went well I think. All my files and pictures seem to be there and the pics pull into Family Tree Maker perfectly. I went ahead and updated to the 2006 version while I was at it. I bought an HP Multi Media with 2GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It's got all the bells and whistles...half a dozen USB ports, a couple fire wire ports, 4 memory stick drives, and all the sound and video ports...but the one port I don't have is a compatible PRINTER PORT! I guess I needed to update that too to higher quality. I still have several programs and drives to reload.
