    1. [JOB] Bond for Archibald Job's First term as Sheriff
    2. JAMES JOBE
    3. These pages document the bond given for Archibald Job for his first term as High Sheriff of Cecil County. Notice the witnesses. Daniel Job and Sarah Job, his brother and his daughter! Yes, the Daniel could be his son, Daniel Defoe Job, but Daniel Defoe had just gotten married that year in Baltimore. So I speculate it was his brother who was closeby. Also because in the documents to come you will see Daniel the brother there. More speculation: Who is Margaret Campbell? Arch had a sister Margaret b. 1730 that we never found. Could she have married a Campbell? 1. [JOB] Album Update - Mary Job Akeley
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Since I keep getting pointed toward Thomas Vernon Job group, (Randy's cecil co., MD documents and Donna's trip to the brick), I decided to start with the ones that I have for his group to post. Will also be sending some to Patti and possibly Tracey in between. Patti will be announcing the ones she does, after the index page is updated and she has them posted. Some of these I may have had for a long time in my file and some I may not remember the submitter. If I post something and it is from you and you aren't given credit - HOLLOR. >grin< By the way, if you have something to post for Thomas Vernon Job group - then do go ahead and send that to me, personally at ann@personainternet.com ASAP. (Since the albums are better organized now, I'm hoping things will go faster than before and be less frustrating). And will be stopping whatever I'm doing to post any of Randys early ones and if an interesting letter comes in - I could be off on a quick research trip. Know Jobe Legacy needs to be updated again as I've added quite a few new things in the last couple of days. 1. [JOB] Executor's Testimony Concerning John White's Will
    2. JAMES JOBE
    3. This document shows Archibald Job and John White Jr., as the Executors of John White Sr.'s will, upholding a descision for his widow Agnes to retain 1/3 of his estate as stated in John's will. But it removes the stiplation that she would return any portion to the heirs, should she die or remarry as stated in his original will. We have John's will, this final descision, but not the beginning court proceedings concerning this matter. We also don't have a record of this marriage yet. If we did we could come close to a death date for Mary Job White. 1. [JOB] New Info - Daniel Jobe and Mourning Pryor Group
    2. Ann (Jobe) Brown
    3. Got a letter from Stan this morning with a biography for J. M. Mullens which mentioned a Miss D. B. Jobe of Tishomingo Co., Ms that he had married January 2, 1866 Tishomingo Co., Ms. So the search started. First of all, from the Biography, I knew that they should be on 1870 Grayson Co., Texas census. They were pretty easy to find there. But this census also showed a Taylor J. T. Mullins, age 8, with the family. Well James M. and D. B. were not married until 1866. And by 1879, D. B. is deceased. So off to the 1880 census and surprise: 1880-Grayson Co., Texas, Precint 1, page 107B James MULLINS Self M Male W 34 AL Farmer Virginia MULLINS Wife M Female W 24 TX Keeping House --- --- Carrie MULLINS Dau S Female W 13 MS AL TX Mansel MULLINS Son S Male W 10 MS AL TX Willie MULLINS Son S Male W 7 TX AL TX Tolbert F. MULLINS Son S Male W 5 TX AL TX Walter MULLINS Son S Male W 3 TX AL TX James T. JOB SSon S Male W 18 MS At Home MS MS *so we now know that D. B. was not really a Miss but probably a Jobe widow with James Taylor her son. Well I already had in my records http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=ajobebrown&id=I01518 a James Jobe, son of Joseph Taylor Jobe and Judeth Kemp and gs/o Daniel Jobe and Mourning Pryor, as married to Delitha B. ? with a son, James Taylor Jobe born 1862 Tishomingo Co., MS. I also knew that the Delitha's husband had died in the civil war. AFter the war, she and the son DISAPPEARED. I also knew from the biography that D. B. Jobe was buried at Whtemound Cemetery in Grayson co., Texas. So went searching and found Whitemound Cemetery - Grayson Co., Texas MULLINS DELITHA B AUG 7,1845 JUL 4,1879 W/O-J M MULLINS To make things even more confusing the 1910 census on ancestry has been indexed as Jakes with possibly Jobes. 1910 -Grayson Co., Texas J T Jakes 48 Sallie Jakes 46 Minnie Jakes 19 Henry Jakes 14 Tom Jakes 10 Willie Jakes 8 Clibb Jakes 5 Talbert Jakes 2 *name should be Jobe when you look at the census You look at it and the name is Jobe. Also found where Sallie Jobe died September 9, 1914 Grayson Co., Texas. In 1920 these children are all over the place and Minnie has married Joe C. Burns. For more of the story - check the next update of Job(e) Legacy. Thank you Stan and Jill. Never assume that I already have a piece of informaiton - especially if you check Legacy, Branches or one of my Twigs files and don't find it. You just might find the clue to fill in a whole new lines. I had wondered about this 'extra set' of Jobes in Grayson Co., Texas for some time. I knew about two other lines there - but this one wasn't fitting with them. Ann (Jobe) Brown

    1. Re: [JOB] Alot of new documents
    2. James, I would be willing to help transcribe the Cecil County documents. Depending on what you have, I may already have done some of them. I sent Ann an interesting item some months ago regarding Andrew Jobe Sr.'s refusal to pay taxes. I'm descended through the NC line. I live in Calvert County, MD, about 2 hours from Cecil County. Please feel free to let me know what you have or just send it along, and I'll get started. I generally transcribe into MSWord and scan the actual documents as PDFs. So if you want to send me hard copies, I will return a transcription, a scan and the hardcopy. If you've already scanned the documents, I'll return a transcription. We are coming across alot of new documents these days. In the months to come we will be posting new transcriptions of documents found pertaining to the earliest Jobes and even more pertaining to our great greats. We could use some transcribers. If you think you can read someone elses handwriting written in the King's english, then we need your expertice. Or if you can just retype what was previously typed, we need you. Margaret and Lonnie have been doing the majority, but we need more. My latest dig has produced 336 new documents on the early Jobs of Cecil County, Maryland and about 80 from Chester County, Pennsylvania concerning Andrew Job Jr. I have double that in newspaper clips and locality related Jobes. If you feel so inclined, contact Ann, Freida or myself for ways to help grow your Jobe site. Randy Do not go where the path may lead; Go where there is no path and leave a trail. And Thank you, Margaret for checking all the links and to the list for their patience. Also to Margaret and Lonnie for transcribing at a moment's notice. (As Randy said - we need more to transcribe - if you can help here, drop him a line). If you maintain albums though, you could be quite busy shortly when I start sending you new items to post. Many times I felt like giving up and quitting - thinking I would never get through the transfers - remember I've been working on this steady since the 3rd week of September. Of the albums left to do, there are 14. Actually 2 of them have been done (except for captions - actually several more are in those 2 than what I'm showing on the index) and I'll link to them shortly. So on these 14, (they are all part of Randy's group and he has MUCH MORE that he has collected and will be adding on them) - contact him if you need something there. I'll be deleting the album tomorrow for imagestation - but will be leaving the index page posted - so it will be easy for me to redo as he has time to do these remaining albums. As you know from his previous post, he has been extremely BUSY obtaining new items, many of which are very early. After tomorrow, nothing should go to imagestation. Shortly, I'll be working on adding some of the MANY things that I have in folders to the newly transferred albums. But right now I have a file of 340 m to post to the Job(e) albums with NEW items. So we just change files. >grin< Ann (Jobe) Brown

The new links for Hadley and Waneta's letters can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/courtships_hadley_shires.html and ALL the new links for all of Moses group can be found at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/j_joshua2.html Going to feel 'strange' for a while not to have 20-25 pages at all times on my desk of albums and index pages to transfer and/or revise indexes for. But right now I have a file of 340 m to post to the Job(e) albums with NEW items. So we just change files. >grin< Ann (Jobe) Brown *Descend from Andrew Job Jr - Elizabeth Vernon, Job(e) Legacy, please send records, old photos, memorials, letters, heirlooms to Freida -- freida49@yahoo.com -- or myself (Ann) -- ann@personainternet.com ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to JOB-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message -- No virus found in this incoming message. 1. [JOB] Alot of new documents
    2. JAMES JOBE
    3. Here we go again. Emerson
