    3. Where in Oklahoma, Freida?? Patti Greetings Everyone, Three new albums have been made for Robert Job (s/o Enoch Job and Lucretia) and Mary "Polly" Long. After discovering the descendant Everett Scott Jobe was of this family, I have spent several days working on this family. Many new discoveries have been made and this family has finally come together. Death dates have been narrowed down, new marriages have been found, cemeteries and photos discovered on websites and also that this family moved..... A LOT! They started in TN > MO> KS > OK. It has been a real roller coaster even searching for this family and some census have still not been found. It is like they all disappeared. I invite all of you and especially those who descend from Enoch and Lucretia to see all I have found. Thanks to Ann for help on this also and for discovering on the new disk she got in the mail that the front entrance to one of the cemeteries in OK where William F. Jobe s/o Andrew and Sarah Adkins is buried. I find it interesting that her Young / Meirs family are buried in the same cemetery that a Jobe descendant of my line is buried. Wonder if they know one another? I hope to get down there or at least find someone that will go there and take a photo of the Civil War stone for William that we know is there. November 1, 2003 FLASH!! Another new JOBE was discovered last night. Sometime ago I had found a story in the Chillicothe MO newspaper about a couple that had drown in Minnesota, well it turned out that she was a descendant of Robert and Polly also. She was the daughter of Thomas Porter Jobe and Mary Scott and sister to Everett Scott Jobe. So there is ever MORE new info. There is too much to tell in one email, but I am just OVER JOYED with all that I have discovered on this family in ONE WEEK! It has been a long time coming! I am sure there will be more added in time as it is discovered. On to the next family that needs tending to.....

    3. Greetings Sherman, and happy halloween etccc... Sorry mate, i do not have any information what so ever on Patrick..... Hey dreams are made by this one man life, wish i had him in my tree..... I am lead to believe he may be one of the London JOBs ????..... My guess with the hyphenated name, could well be one of the old British Naval traditions, when a child is born fatherless/out of wedlock, the child takes the names of both parents, thus starting an new family name line..... As it also happens, i have in my JOB line in Australia, a couple of double barrel names (hyphenated name) started on their marriage and or defacto relationship, on the birth of their children, thus creating a new family name... ( any how it helps in keeping track of them in the future !! ha ), question only remains, when sometime in the future, when there is a research done on that name and they come to a complete stop !! ... double ha... again ?? ) Hope all cousins are clear of bush fires in the States... regards Warren Job Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2003 5:38 AM Subject: Re: [JOB] William Job born 1843 in Cornwall > Warren, do you have information on Patrick Dalzel-Job, the author of "From > Arctic Snow to Dust of Normandy?" 1. [JOB] Book -The Hidden Half of the Family
    2. Freida Wells
    3. I received this from a LAMAR family researcher and thought I would pass it on. Might help someone out there. Freida The Hidden Half of the Family by Christina Kassabian Schaefer. it is supposed to help trace women. It has some interesting dates for some of the states we are working on. These may explain why sometimes we find the birth place listed as one state, but at the time it was really part of a different territory or state. INDIANA 1679 claimed by France 1732 Vincennes founded (this is where the land office of David Lamar patents) 1763 Ceded from France to Great Britain 1784 Clarksville founded 1787 part of the Northwest Territory 1800 Created as the territory of Indiana, including the remainder of the Northwest territory. 1814 Separate Indiana Territory organized 1816 Statehood; constitution drafted with basis in common law 1846 National Road is extended across Indiana www.state.lib.in.us/indiana/genealogy (library in Allen County, Indiana the National Road got me thinking a bit. I want to look into that. I did find that the Buffalo Trace went from Kaskaskia through Vincennes. I did find a Lamar in Kaskaskia on a census in maybe 1790? I think his name was John. I will try to find that. Kaskaskia is now part of Illinois, which is West of Indiana, but would have probably been part of the Northwest Territory or the Indiana Territory when the census was done. Don't know if he is related to us yet. There are still a lot of census records that I need transcribed that only have heads or indexes or incomplete. Please check my state pages and any that say head only or index or that you find incomplete or not there, please transcribe and send to me - so we'll have for all time. Even if not a Job(e) spelling, I would like to have any that are Jobe descendants. Thanks.
