Thanks Sam for your telephone call and the e-mail. I will try to send a note to Jimmy with his old e-mail address. Stan Jobe
Hi Stan I can't help any with an answer to the question.. I have visited---in person---Jimmy Jobe. There is quite a lot of Jobe history around the Vilonia area (and Enola, Ark.). Jimmy did have a web page, but has let up on Genealogy. I don;'t know about now.......... I have an ongoing project of tracking all the children of Thomas L. Williams and Frankey Murrell. You'll recall that Thomas was son of James Williams & Susannah unk of Moniteau Co., and fellow traveler of sister Mary Williams and husband Robert Henry who had all those children who (like their cousins in Moniteau Co.) married a bunch of Jobes. Still think James' wife Susanna or their parents, etc. were connected with one of the Jobe allied families --- one with just regular names like John, William, James, Mary, etc. (no second-tier biblical names -- Elijah, Elisha, Abraham, etc. that are some common in the Jobes it seems). Regarding the Arizona website, I tracked Thomas & Frankey's granddaughter Frankey Guffey who married Henry Stamper 1898 in Dade Co. Mo to Cochise Co AZ in the 1920 census. But they weren't on any death records, so I wonder where they went? I was actually thinking of stopping in Cochise Co., which is near the Mexican border, on my way to Missouri sometime. Maybe I'll trot up to the library and look in the 1930 census for them on ancestry.com. Thanks again, Janet
Greetings all, While working on another line, I was getting some land deeds from the BLM website http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ and decided to check and see if any "New" land records had been added for the JOBE surname in Missouri. Much to my surprise I found 7 new records for my William Stone Jobe, s/o James M. Jobe and Margaret Stone and gs/o Enoch Job (e) and Lucretia? There was also a new one for Ann of her family in Oregon Co., MO. I have added the 7 new Land Patents to the album of William and they can be viewed at http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287318499 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/chambers_pace.html Freida New Images 1. 1843, April 1- Land Patent to William S. Sounds unfair to me too. You can always try to negotiate with them. Best of luck. ~malinda I have been watching the FTM site to see when the new version of FTM would be coming out, well it is now here. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/?Welcome=1091396247 There is one thing that I do not like, it you do not already have version 11 it will cost you $29.99 to upgrade rather than the $19.99 it usually does, so I will have to pay $29.99 as did not see that many changes in 11 to did not buy. this one is Robert's grand-uncle. Until I found that death cert a year or so ago, no one knew where he ended up and what happened to him, what he died of! All my FIL knew was he was a drifter, so that was sure nice to find. Patti The state of Arizona has put the Birth and Death records online. If you click onto the name you can see the original record.
