WOW--wouldn't that be something if it turns out to be the key to solving some of our mysteries regarding Elisha's 1st wife! Very VERY interesting, Ann!! Patti Was going to send this to just a few but then decided to send to the list. I know where Patti's Logan Jobe got his first name. It is from Logue - William Marrs Logue. Had always wondered about that name. Freida, remember when we were working on Hannah's descendants, we found a couple of 1st name Logan after logue. Well I bet this is where Elisha got the name for his 1st son. You know it wouldn't surprise me if the mystery name of Elisha's 1st wife (Patti's direct ancestor) isn't a close relative of William Marrs Logue. *Remember Elisha Jobe is listed on the 1812 Warren Co, TN Tax list and is shown on the SAME PAGE as Hannah (Jobe) Logue, his sister. *Then you check there is an 1817 deed mentioning Daniel Paine - again families connected with Hannah's group. And witness was a Martin Johnson (again Logue family) Martin Johnson was the one who married Sarah Combs and was the father of William M. Johnson who married Mary Logue (Hannah's daughter), And to top this off, Martin Johnson was the s/o James Johnson and Rebecca MARTIN who married 1766 Goochland, VA. Greetings, A new database has been added to the State of Missouri website. This is soldiers who served in Civil War, War of 1812, and WW I. I searched for the surname JOBE and got several hits, and many names I recognized. Here is the link to search. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/soldiers/ On the Civil War soldiers, you will be able to view their enlistment card and you can even save if you have Adobe 6.0. On the War of 1812 you can view and save the record book where the names are listed, so there is more than one person listed here, which could be a real PLUS if others that married into the family also enlisted at the same time. On the WW I record, it is typed and will give you a lot of detailed information, such as where he was living, where he was inducted, what state he was born in, what unit he served in and how long, if he served overseas and his rank. On the file for Alva S. Jobe it gives all this plus his mother's name, Elizabeth Jobe, and that she was living in Kansas City, MO. and that she was notified when he died in 1919. There is much here to learn on our JOBE line if you do not already have this information. Good Luck and I hope you find lots of new information for your Missouri JOBE. Freida
Found one for my family that I forgot to add yesterday. It is for Samuel Jobe who was married to Margaret Stubblefield. He was a brother to my Eli B. Goodevening all. I wanted to announce that four new albums are now available to view on four children of Jonathan Logue and Isabel ? Jonthan was s/o Hannah Job and William Marrs Logue and gs/o Enoch Job and Lucretia? Now we have received a letter from Cathy Porter Maynard that it is possible and I repeat possible that Isabel's maiden could be LANE. So I am hoping that this can be verified. It would be nice to have her maiden name for our files. The new albums are records that I have located and are census for the following: William Morreson Logue & Matilda Skipton http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2337875093 http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe/album/wm_m_logue.html Elizabeth P. I also need information regarding Jonathan's daughter Nancy Catherine. She was born before 1835 in Morgan Co., IL. Did she marry and if so who? Did they have children and when did they die and where are they buried? Thanks to all who have helped us so much in getting these albums online. Freida

Continuing to update the albums with things that I have in a storage folder to add. These six all have to do with my own Jobe family of Oregon Co., MO. Sometimes I get amazed where the information actually comes from and gets to me. Freida got me the 2 land records. The obits came from a distant cousin of my mothers who just happens to live in Weatherford where my Jobe family had moved in the mid 1930's. And the one obituary for my father I didn't even know existed. Remember my line goes: *Andrew Job Jr, Caleb Job and Barbary ?, Samuel Job and Dorcas MacKay, Isaac Job(e) and unknown, Eli B. Greetings Everyone from a Rainy Kansas, While I work on other things, Ann has kindly posted several new images to several albums and made a new one for the descendants of Elisha Jobe s/o Enoch Job, Jr. and Lucretia. Now one thing that I do want to mention is today while working on Imagestation, they made some changes and upgraded the way we do things, and as of yet, on any new albums built there will be NO index link on the album page at the bottom right hand corner like there has been in the past, that option has been removed. So Ann and I will have to be sure and list it in any email's we send out to let you know that there is one for it. Here is what she did today, and I want to thank her very much for doing this. I was just send a picutre of tombstone of John David Jobe (June 14, 1975 - April 14, 1996) - buried Troy Cemetery, Lincoln Co., Missouri - by someone who knows that I research the Job(e) family. Can anyone Identify this person for me? just did a search and about all I could find was a query that Freida has posted in Feb 2003 where she had found mention of an obit for him in Pike Co., MO. Well not we have a picutre and I still don't know who he is. Ann
Just updated Job(e) Legacy for the 4th time this month. In the last 6 days, there have been '323 new entries' added - so as you can see, it has been BUSY MONTH so far. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown The updates are mainly for: 1) Hannah (Jobe) Logue descendants - probably about 75% of it 2) Abraham Cox b. 1812 - d/o Mary Leah (Job) Cox and gs/o Jacob Job and Deborah MacKay 3)George T. F. Geralds b. 1863 - s/o Jeptha K. Fitzgerald and Sarah E. Copass and gs/o William M. Copass and Rhoda Jackson and gt gs/o Nancy (Job) and John Copass and gt gt gs/o Nathan Job and Lydia McCarty 4) then small tidbits such as a date or small note on various lines. Ann (Jobe) brown
Cathy, Didn't even realize that you were on the list. You got any pictures of Oliver and/or Myrtle or any of their children? What about cemetery pictures. The next update will have quite a bit of new inforamtion on Elizabeth P. Logue Norris Ishmael - d/o JOnathan Logue and gd/o Hannah (Job) Logue and gt gd/o Enoch Job Jr. - so keep watch. But we could sure use your help in obtaining some pictures and memorials for Jonathan's descendants. Just send to Freida or myself and we'll get them posted. Please do check your line and let us know if you have any corrections and/or additions. She was seeking additional information regarding a Hannah Logue, daughter of Enoch Job of Cole Co MO. Ann checks these boards often and found it and sent to me. I contacted Agnes immediately and she sent me the documents where Hannah had filed a claim against her father's estate in 1851. He died in 1843, so we are not sure why it took her so long or what her reason was. Well I have to tell you I was so excited to learn of a "New" child for Enoch and Lucretia that I went to work on finding all I could, and as the saying goes "The Rest Is History" or should I say over 300 pages now of family information and it is growing everyday. For 7 days Ann and I have been working on this line. She had received a letter from a HILLIS descendant that got us interested in the family again as it had been some time since I had worked on it. Then Ann found Carolyn Storie,[email protected] who is a descendant of Lawson H. Hillis and she had cemetery photos and so she sent those and some family photos of the DENNY line to go with it. As we began to work on this family, I decided it was time to now go and get ALL the census for the children of Hannah JOB and William LOGUE, so that is what I did. I also finally found William and Hannah on the 1820 census and Hannah on the 1840 census after the death of William, so there are two new images there for them and all census for them is now complete. Each child of Hannah and William has their own Records album now and the best way to see them all is thru Ann's links to the albums on her main Job pages: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ajobebrown/jobe.html These are the albums for the LOGUE family: Hannah Job(e) & Willam M. Logue's Records - INDEX (11 scans) Jonathan M. Logue and Isabel ? Records - INDEX (7 scans) Mary 'Polly' Logue and William M. Hillis s/o Nancy Logue and Isaac Hillis http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2401955093 Memorial - Lawson H. Hillis s/o Nancy Logue and Isaac Hillis http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2408195093 There were only one or two albums made for this family and as you can see there are MANY images now that you can view. A lot of the census were crooked and I have taken care of that. Now we are going to continue on with the grandchildren of Hannah Job and William Logue. The areas we are working in are: Warren and Van Buren CO., TN, Cass Co., IL ., and Madison Co AR. If you are a descendant of any of the JOB/ LOGUE/ HILLIS lines, we want to hear from you! We are seeking, DOCUMENTS, FAMILY PHOTOS, CEMETERY PHOTOS, BIBLE RECORDS, FUNERAL RECORDS, CENSUS,CARDS, NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS of any kind, OBITUARIES, and the list goes on and on. Anything sent will be posted in your name. We are one of the fastest growing Surnames on the internet and I have not seen any family with the resources online that we have. If you are related to the JOB family WE MOST LIKELY HAVE IT OR CAN GET IT! I hope those of you in the JOB family that descend from Enoch Job, Jr and Lucretia like I do will enjoy what we have put together and your comments are welcome. The same goes for the LOGUE and HILLIS families. The research continues and now I will begin with the children of Jonathan Logue and we will be adding even more images and new albums to the family. There are already some there now, but rest assured it will continue to GROW! To read more about the family, of Hannah Job and her descendants, please see Ann Brown's file on World Connect. Hi and greetings, just came across this site GOULD Genealogy and Family History Data http://www.distantcousin.com/SurnameResources/Surname.asp?Surname=GOULD came across a couple of JOBs thought you may be interested in checking it out, if you already did not know about it... regards Warren Job australia
Greetings everyone, In 2001, a message was posted to the Van Buren Co TN message board by an Agnes Jones. Johnson Records - INDEX (4 scans) Oliver Logue and Rebecca Cole Records - INDEX 7 scans) Elisha 'Eli' Logue & 1) Matilda Hammer 2) Nancy Johnson Records - INDEX (5 scans) Lucretia Logue & 1) Benjamin L. Smith 2) William Robinson Records - INDEX (9 scans) Nancy Jane Logue & 1) Isaac Boyd 2) Robert Hillis Records - INDEX (6 scans) James Calvin Logue & Anna Boyd Records - INDEX (5 scans) Lydia Logue and Dixon Naylor Hillis Sr. Records - INDEX (5 scans) Elizabeth Logue and Archibald Hillis Records - INDEX (5 scans) Now this is not all, we have a new photo album and two new memorial albums for some of these folks, so here they are: Photo - Lawson H. Hillis s/o Nancy Logue and Isaac Hillis http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2401955093 Memorial - Lawson H. Hillis, s/o Nancy Logue and Isaac Hillis http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2409355093 Memorial - Woodson P. I have been so busy working the census I have not had time to update my file. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=ajobebrown&id=I033025 Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
