Among the first of the Charlestown settlers to locate on Somerville territory were John Woolrich, Captain(???)Norton, Edward Gibones, Mr. William Jennings and John Wignall; followed a little later by Richard Palsgrave, Edward Jones and others, and by the Governor, John Winthrop, in 1631. My Jennings line was from Pasq./Perq, Cos also Currituck Co in N.C. Gov. William Reed born 1667 married 1 Christain Jennings and 2 Jane Jennings. By Jane he had at least one child. My direct line was from Christain. By Christain ,he had a son William who married Elizabeth Hatch. Upon Williams death, his widow married 2 Mcrora Scarborough, when he died she married Joseph Blount. Gov. William Reed was the son of George Reed and Deliverence ---?--. Thomas Relfe mentions William Reed(who md Elizabeth Hatch) in letters stating that he will leave William land if he remains with his aunt until he becomes of age.This indicates that Thomas's wife (Mary Jennings) was a sister of Christain Jennings.
