I was interested in your search because of the name Tyra. In my maternal gr'father's family this is a frequent turn up. I have Tire (Tyre,Tyra) Jennings married to Mary Melton in 1814 in Edgefield County, SC and later Tyre Jennings b. 1846 to Hastings Jennings and Susannah Stone in Edgefield. In Houston, TX there is a direct descendant to this family named Tyre Jennings III. My gr'gr'gr'father was Lott Jennings s/o Wm. Jennings and his 2nd wife Ellen (Elenor) Etheredge. These are all from Edgefield County but I don't know where they originated. Most of the info I have has them coming out of Maryland. Where are yours from? Sorry I couldn't help but the coincidence was too great to ignore. My Tyra Jennings was born in TN. I am attempting to prove his parentage. His first name has been spelled Tyra, Tira, Tirey, Tyrey, Tiree, and other ways. I have used Tyra as his grandson was named Louis Tyra Jennings and I assume he was named for his grandfather.
