This isn't exactly the northern part of the United States, but even though my Jennings line originally came out of the south, they wound up in Oregon. Mine was my great grandfather Jesse R. Jennings, and Artemecia Cooper, they settled in Grants Pass Oregon their last years and were in business along with their sons. Also there was George William Jennings, that was a son of the first wife Amanda, who started west with him, and she died along the Oregon, Ca. Trail. I have no idea where she died at or if there is a marker of any kind. They came into Placerville, Ca. but don't think they stayed long there as they were into Oregon in the winter of 1852.
