Lee Kitchen Taylor Three of Balis’ children married into the Galloway family from Lincoln Co., MO. Bailess Jennings served under Capt. George Richardson's company from August 31 until December 1, l913 (pages 89-90). He also served under Capt. Isaac Meridith's company from August 26, 1814 until February, 1915 (pages 187-188). These entries were found on the Roster of Ohio Soldiers in War of 1812. He moved his family from Tuscarawas County, OH sometime in the 1830s to Indiana, believed to have been near New Salem. The last two children may have been born there. He then moved his family to IL, settling near Atlas. Balis died at age 51 in Illinois.
