Hi fellow Jennings researchers, I have recently searched on the LDS site for information on James Jennings (1755-1834) of Caldwell, KY. I have never seen any real proof of his parents and to date he is the oldest Jennings in my database. There has been some information that he may have come from SC. Mainly his pension record states he joined the military on the Santee River in SC. Also there seems to be quite a population of Jennings there about that time. There has been some thought that he was a brother to Rowland Jennings, but I have not seen any hard proof. I was surprised to see a researcher named Kenneth Jennings of Ripley, WV had submitted a Gedcom file to the LDS database listing Edward Salley Jennings of Caldwell County, KY as the father to James Jennings. There was no Email address for Kenneth Jennings and so I will need to write him thru snail mail to find out about his sources.
