Anthony JenningsSurry Co. >> Anthony JENNINGS was my g-g-grandfather, b. 1773 probably in Surry County NC. His parentage has never been determined, however, it could have been a John JENNINGS shown in earlier census accounts. In 1793 he married a Martha McBRIDE, daughter of William McBRIDE and Keziah Cockerham, born 1775 in VA. Anthony and Martha had ten children in Surry County. In 1827, Anthony, Martha and eight of their ten children moved to (old) Campbell County (now a part of Fulton County) GA. Anthony died in Campbell County between 1840 and 1850. Martha died there between 1850 and 1860. I would remind JENNINGS researchers that the alternate spelling, GINNINGS, was often used. Anthony and Martha's first child, Anderson, stayed in Surry County and did not move with the family to GA. Anderson used this alternate spelling and some of his descendants of today are GINNINGS. I have a fairly good genalogical record of most of the descendants of Anthony and Martha, which I am happy to share. I use FTM V7.0 and a PC and can easily make disc copies either in FTW or GEDCOM for either a PC or Mac. Gordon L. Jennings Houston TX
