To DALE as well as the person on VAROOTS who published the original warning ... You DO have another recourse. Some credit card companies are helpful, others just ignore such a request for cooperation and go on charging interest on the disputed charge. I went in person to the nearest office of my state attorney general. It took nearly two years for them to gain full cooperation of the offending company, but in the end I received all the disputed charges, interest, late charges, and the company even sent me a very expensive freebie. Your phone book should have an 800 number for your state's attorney general. Call and find out where is their nearest office. Make a copy of all pertinent records, then go in person if at all possible. One of the reasons I had success is that I was working with a student from the law school who worked part time for the AG's office. They like successful endings so that can go on their resumes, helps them get a job. VIRGINIA P.S., thanks to the list Mom or Dad for your indulgence.
