Still searching for parents of David Doyle Jennings, b. bet. 1797 (g/s) and 1802. He married Ruth WRIGHT, also from Westmoreland, PA. According to a history published by David Alonzo Jennings in 1918, "Two branches of the Jennings family settled in that part of Virginia in the century before the birth of David D. Jennings, but we are not certain to which he belongs. The most numerous are John Jennings who located at Fredericksburg in 1754 and who traced his ancestors to Humphrey Jennings, the iron master of Birmingham, England. The others are descendants of William Jennings, born in Yorkshire, England in 1676, married to Mary J. Pullium in Hanover County, Virginia in 1724, and who died in Nottoway County, Virginia in 1775. He had been a British officer." "David D. Jennings lived in Westmoreland County, Virginia until after their two oldest children, Abram, b. 1818, m. Louisa Foreman and Jane, b. 1819, m. Jobe Westcott were born." Someone earlier was asking if all the children of John Jennings had been found. Is there some Jennings researcher who could answer that question? Once again, I appreciate and welcome your thoughts. Connie Chancellor [email protected]
