List Members: I am searching for some answers as to where my Anderson Jennings lived in "Indian Territory - Central District" after his discharge from the Civil War. >From copies of his Civil War Pension papers...He lists the following as places of residence since leaving the service. #1 Thomasville, Indian Territory; #2 Wister, Indian Territory; #3 Blosier (I think, was hard to read) in Indian Territory; and #4 Keota, Indian Territory. Also, his papers show he was last paid "$12.00 to 4 Nov 1910, because of "Section 4719, B.S." I don't know what this means....any ideas? Perhaps his death? Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this for me.....HAPPY NEW YEAR also to all of you!! Regards, Dixie (Jennings) Greenwood
I am seeking descendants of William J. Jennings and his wife, Sara Donaldson, who were married in 1845 either in SC or TN. Sara was the sister of my great, great grandfather John Robertson Donaldson. My ancestor stayed in Marlboro Co., SC, but Sara moved to Gibson Co., TN with her parents and siblings, and must have married there, but I have lost their trail. I have a lot of Donaldson information, and would love to share. Joanne H. NC harleyclan@coastalnet.com

Dear Listmembers: I want to take this time in the Christmas Season to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. It is my wish that each of you find a lost ancestor under your Christmas "tree". Many of you I have spoken with or corresponded with quite heavily in the past and others of you I have never made contact with, however, each of you are very much a part of my thoughts during this season. At this time of year, I always prefer to look past all the commercialism of the season and try to imagine just how much more Christmas meant in the years past when Christmas morning meant an orange, a stick of candy and maybe a penny in the stocking....I like to think that it was a much more meaningful time then it is now in this age of "more money makes the better gift". Although this year, the economy is a little worse then before, we are still most fortunate in comparison to our ancestors. I cannot help but wonder if perhaps we would be better off with our blood pressure and stress levels if we ourselves lived in a simpler time and out of the present day rat race. Try to briefly stop sometime during Christmas to consider all the blessings that you DO have that your grandparents didn't and you will come to realize that even though you may not have ALL that you WANT...you are still very lucky indeed. Merry Christmas everyone Debbie Jennings Indiana Research for Hire http://www.angelfire.com/in4/indianaresearch Franklin county Vermont Genweb Site Franklin County Vermont Lancaster County Virginia Genweb Site Lancaster County, VAGenWeb Project Sweet Owen and Surrounding Areas http://www.angelfire.com/in4/sweetowen/ Our Kentuckiana Home http://www.angelfire.com/ky3/kentuckianahome/

Florence and all-- Florence was correct in what she posted, however, I am now concerned with this new one that has just come up. The badtrans is bad enough, but at least people are able to eliminate it from the system. This new one is NOT be caught in the scans and it is destroying the actual files used to get rid of it. I still find that the best method of protection is to NOT open ANY attachments or even the emails containing them. That is your best route of protection instead of trying to guess which ones are "ok" or not. With the 17 lists I have, I am filtering mail from somewhere in the neighborhood of 1500-2000 different persons/systems. Although I have seen the various attachments and unsubbed persons, I HAVE NOT had one episode of getting the viruses by simply following the "no attachment" rule. Please let your system weigh more in your minds then that "one" piece of potential data that you think you are missing by not opening those emails. Again, NO attachments will come THROUGH the mailing list. If the email has the list name in the subject line and it has an attachment DUMP IT. Don't even think twice about it. I am looking for descendants and information on my g. grandparents, EMMIE L. JENNINGS, b. 1851, in VA, d. 1880, and m. GEORGE W. BURNETT, in St. Clair County, MO, on March 17, 1872. George W. Burnett was originally from Morgan County, IL. This couple had three children together: 1. Charles Isham Burnett, b. 1872, in Atchison, KS. 2. Anna C. Burnett, b. 1875, in Schell City, Vernon County, MO. 3. Otis Willett "Willie" Burnett, b. 1880 and d. c. 1920s. The parents of Emmie were REUBEN JENNINGS, b. c. 1820, and ELIZABETH (?), both from VA. Reuben and Elizabeth Jennings moved to Callway County, Mo, near the town of Fulton, sometime in the late 1850s. In the 1870 census of Lewis County, MO (somewhat near Callaway County), I found Reuben Jennings, age 50, living alone. She also had a sister, CORDELIA JENNINGS, b. 1856, in VA, and m. JAMES ROBERT CRAIGHEAD/CRAGHEAD, in Callaway County, in 1876. Cordelia d. in 1918, in Callaway County, and James Robert d. in 1895, also in Callaway County. After their marriage, Cordelia and James "Robert" moved to Vernon County, MO, where they lived for 11 years before moving back to Fulton, Callaway County, MO. I have more information and some pictures to share. Thanks, Patricia

My search: My gg grandparents and one daughter came to the US, I believe from County Mayo, about 1840. Their names were Domenick and Honora (Jennings) Moran. Their daughter, Mary C., was about 4 years old when they arrived. There is a 5 year discrepancy (1860 & 1880 censuses) on Domenick's age. He was born in either 1812 or 1807. I can find no info on Honora (Jennings) Moran other than a death date. Their children (all but Mary, born Lake County, IL): Mary C, b. abt 1836 Bridget E, b. abt 1842 Edward F., b about 1844 (my g grandfather) John, b. abt 1847 Margaret A, b. abt 1849 I wrote County Mayo, Ireland and asked for a data base search for Domenick and Honora. They found nothing. Domenick purchased land in Shields Township (now Lake County, IL), Illinois on Dec 9, 1842. Domenick's Tombstone lists: Margret A Moran, died Aug 8, 1888 (year is unclear) and Katy. No other info is known about Katy, and no where do I find a death record for Honora though I have her death listed as Mar 31, 1873 (according to funeral home record). This family is a total mystery to me. Any ideas about where to go from here?
