I know that there was a Herbert Monroe Jennings ...but he was born in 1887 GM or Monroe was, I imagine, a contemporary cousin of Samuel Thomas Jennings b.1841 d.1907 a young man in the war writing to his cousin in Shelbyville. I see a reference to a Monroe William Jennings b. 1849 died 1919...but he would be too young to be in the war in 1860.(Doughtie's book) -----Original Message-----9 From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, September 09, 1999 8:27 PM Subject: [JENNINGS-L] Re: Munrow Jennings,,,, Answer >Linda, I have to go thru some papers, but we do have a Mun Jennings from >Statesville. Linda, I have to go thru some papers, but we do have a Mun Jennings from Statesville. I am thinking this isn't the same one due to the birthdate you give as 1860. In the book, "Documented Notes on JENNINGS and Allied Families" by Doughtie there is a Squire W. Jennings listed as a son and heir of Isaiah Jennings of Madison County, KY in a will probated 27 Jan 1860. Also shows that Squire married Matilda J. Barnes in 1850 in Madison County, KY. Squire is listed as a brother to Polly Coates, Robert, Sally and as executor of his brother, Jesse's will also in Madison County, KY. Isaiah born 1780 in Rowan Co. NC and parents were Robert Jennings Sr. and Catherine Sallee. There is quite a bit of info on Robert, Sr. and the family. Hope this info is helpful. Tyre Jennings Houston, TX

Looking for information about the birthdate and parents of George (?) JENNINGS who married Celia Emma WHITE in Albany, NY between 1850 and 1860. Celia was born 8-1-1825 in England and came to the U.S. in 1850. Would also like information about their marriage. Descendants lived in Illinois, Texas, and elsewhere. Also researching White, Robinson, Tregay, Armitage, and Maddox families. Judy Gaskell [email protected]
Thank you very much. I am not sure that John is Noah's father but it is possible. However, the family information is divided between John being the father and James being the father. I have seen both. Any info is greatly appreciated. and THANKS again. Also, by the way, the "old" excuse is a good one. Massillon, Ohio - Not dated Baby Born To Fire Victim Mrs. Charles Jennings, 15, who sustained severe burns on her back, legs and arm from flaming kerosene, Sunday, at her residence, 1452 Lawn Ave SW, gave birth this morning to a baby at the Massillion city hospital where she was taken following the accident. The baby was born prematurely, according to the attending physician's office and has been placed in an incubator. The condition of Mrs. Jennings was described as fair by hospital authorities. Mrs. Jennings was burned when some of the flaming kerosene spilled over her body as she ran for the door after her father Emmett Roe of the same address, endeavored to throw it outside. The kerosene, contained in a jar, caught fire as Roe attempted to start a fire in a stove, according to Patrolman Ernest Smith who investigated. Roe was treated at the hospital for burns of the hand and wrist and released. Connie Chancellor [email protected]
Hello, Thank you Caren for posting all the information on GenForum. When I tried to post a response, my computer froze - perhaps I was taking too long. When in England last month, I tried to find the Benjamin Jennings, supposedly b. 12/8/1748 in Surrey County, England. Does anyone know his wife, Rebecca's maiden name? His son, Gideon, b. 12/24/1767 m. Grace Derrah/Darrah, b. 11/24/1772 - 1/3/1868. Her final resting place is in St. Mathew's Lutheran formerly called Mt. Tabor cemetery in Tuscarawas County, Ohio We were able to verify that information in the New Philadelphia library, where we first found Gideon's signature two years ago on a census record. My theory that Gideon might have had a different father has fizzled. It is very puzzling that an English man would have named his only son, Gideon. Thank you for any clues anyone might have. Anne
