Hi, I'm looking for my orphan, Joann Jennings, born in Joplin, MO in about 1870-1880. Anyone ever heard of her? I have no idea who her parents or siblings were. She seems to have fallen from the sky. Thanks for listening, Brenda S.
Can we add a Tennessee Jennings in there too? Maureen, Sorry to reply back to the list, but unable to get your email address to transmit. Found your post concerning your John JENNINGS interesting and felt it worth replying to. I have a ggg-grandfather--James Jennings. His siblings names were Richard Waugh, William Jennings and John Jennings. I believe that the brothers were all older than James, who was b. in 1780. What I have been able to ascertain is that the family lived around the Culpeper, Madison, and Stafford counties and other close surrounding areas. John Jennings is said to have married Fanny HUNT in 1801. Please contact me if this happens to be your John JENNINGS. Gayle

Does anyone have aces to the Meadville, Crawford County, Pa. Cemetery listings? I am looking for Samuel K. Jennings who died around the turn of the century. If anyone can help I would appreciate it and thank you. Mary Jennings [email protected]
I saw your posting to the Jenning mailing list. I, too, am frustrated by the seeming lack of connection between my Ohio Jennings line and anyone else on earth...or on this list, anyhow. I can trace to my gggrandfather, John JENNINGS (of course!) who was born about 1805 in Ohio. I suspect his father was Benjamin, an early settler of Hilliar Twp., in Knox County, Ohio. But where he came from I have no idea! Other settlers at the time came from western Pennsylvania, but my family lore says the Jenningses are from Virginia somewhere along the way. Good luck on your search--I certainly need it on mine! Maureen
is there a url for that ?
Hello Jennings and Berks researchers, I have been watching the Jennings connections for a couple of years now and have yet to see anyone have a real connection in Berks County, PA. I will try again to see if someone can connect to these Berks County JENNINGS. Hey Virginia and Ohio......maybe this Mary is yours, I can't find any data on her in these neck of the woods, maybe she moved away. Maybe your Mary Jennings has a skeleton in her closet:) I have a very large brick wall and am hoping someone can knock some holes in it. My Jennings is: Mary JENNINGS; probably born about 1800, gave birth to a son in 1821 with Charles KEPPLE, possibly Lancaster County, PA. I have no proof of their marriage or who raised the son Charles KEPPLEY. At the baptism of the baby, a John JENNINGS and Barbara were the sponsors and the name of the parents were given as if it were an illigitimate child at Trinity Lutheran Church. Charles married and resided in the area of St Daniel's church in Robesonia To elaborate on the John & Barbara....I suspect this Barbara's maiden name was MAURER and John was previously married to a Barbara KUHN. QUESTIONS: Was Mary a daughter of John JENNINGS and the previous Barbara KUHN or were they siblings. Was Mary from outside of the Berks area or did she leave after having the baby. Was the baby brought into Berks from elsewhere? Was she already married to someone else and Jennings was her married name? Was the reason she didn't marry Charles because her family was against her marrying a German? Sure would love to know her story! Here are some records from the Reading, Berks County area. I am most sorry for the continued delay in getting the mailing out to those of you that should have received it way before now. The addresses for everyone were misplaced in the move we made to our new ranch and we found some of the addresses earlier but took awhile to find the box where the others were so that I had the additional addresses to send you all so that you could then send on a copy to the others on the list and so on and so on. AT ANY RATE......FINALLY.....all of the addresses have been found and the first several mailings are FINALLY going out. For all of you who contacted me regarding this information.....those that were the first ones on the list will be receiving yours in short order. The others further down the list will be receiving yours whenever they are copied by the recipients of the first mailing and sent on to you. Once again, I do apologize for being so delayed with this process. Never did I think it would take this long and thought when I had last written on the subject that the packages were going out in short order......then I became aware that there were still missing pages of information. So....we can now proceed. Thanks for your patience. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick Barnett
Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worchester County vol1 Page 862 GEORGE JENNISON. The Jennings family and the Jennison family are descended from the same immigrant ancestor. Two brothers, Robert and William Jennings, came to New England in 1630 or before. They came from Colchester, England. One of the descendants of Robert Jennison was prominent among the pioneers of the town of Worcester. None of the founders was more prominent. William Jennison was a settler in Charlestown and built his house there in 1630. He sold out and removed to Watertown, where Robert Jennison settled, August 16, 1631. He held the rank of captain. He was admitted a freeman May 18, 1631. He was formerly a partner of Richard Spitty of Grey's Inn, London. He was one of the first selectmen; was deputy to the general court; went for a pilot in the ship "Thunder" to Bermuda, October 17, 1633, and reported improved conditions there on his return; commanded a company against the Pequot Indians in the war in 1636; was called to court in July, 1644, for a slight difference of opinion on the question between Parliament and the king, proved to be most loyal to the colony and commonwealth; was employed by the Earl of Warwick to see to his vessel at Boston, June 27, 1646; returned to Colchester, England. He was ensign August 16, 1631; captain March 9, 1636-7; captain of the Trainband 1638; selectman 1635-42-44; deputy to the general court 1637-42-45. Anybody know anything about this???
