She was born in Kangley, Illinois to Lewis Roy and Mary Agnes McClernon Jennings on August 11, 1907. Lewis Roy was born to Issac Newton and Eva Lehman Jennings in Kangley, Illinois on June 27, 1883. Mary Agnes McClernon was born in Kangley also on July 30, 1882 to John McClernon and Mary Devlin. Issac Newton was born May 17, 1848 in Breen County, Pennsylvania.
