Sorry if this is a duplicate post. Haven't received any messages on Jennings List, so re-subscribed. Am still looking for the following ELUSIVE JENNINGS family: Benjamin Jennings (b) 1826 PA Married Martha Nichols (b) 1831 in PA Son-Maneray (b) abt 1851 in PA Dau-Rebecca (b) abt 1853 IA Son-Franklin (b) abt 1858 IA Son-Edgar/Edward (b) 8-8-1859 IA Son-William (b) abt 1862 Son-George (b) abt 1865 This information was taken from the Wapello County IOWA 1870 CENSUS. I've looked in the 1850 census book for Penn. but did not find Benjamin Jennings or Martha Nichols. I assume they married about 1850. Any direction, as to where I might obtain further information, will be much appreciated. Since I only have the State where they were born, and not a township or parish, I 've been unsuccessful in my attempts to locate the family. Thank you in advance. Donna Broberg /drbroberg@aol.com
Are you referring to the Israel Jennings who married Charity Freeman? If so, this is my line. Let me hear from you on this. Claudette, Do you know where in SC John Jennings lived? Your query is the closest anyone has come to my Esther A. JENNINGS (my husband's g-g-g-g-grandmother) who lived in Sumter County, SC from at least 1836 until 1860. Do you have any additional information that might link our two JENNINGS together? Hello to all, I am searching for the ancestors of my 2nd great grandfather, Solomon Jennings (1834, Tuscarawas County, Ohio - 1910, Miami County, Ohio). He was a physician. Thank you. Anne
Hello list, Here is my response to the roll call. I am looking for information on my husband's g-g-g-g-grandmother, Esther A. JENNINGS. She married Samuel Parker HATFIELD in Sumter County, SC sometime between 1830 and 1836. Their first child, William James HATFIELD was born in April 1836. There are no JENNINGS listed on the 1830 federal census index for Sumter County, but there are several listed on the 1840 index. Any information that would help me find Ester JENNINGS' roots and ethnic background would be helpful. Thank you. Janet M. Hatfield
Listers: In the Doughtie book, reference is made to the "Lancasteer Letter" in French Tipton Papers, pub. Thur. 20 Apr. 1876, Lancaster, Ky, in possession of Dr. J. T. Davis, Richmond, Ky.
