Anyone have a connection to either of these two JENNINGS families? They were both living at 3 Moness St., Bromley, London in the 1881 British Census. Hello List Members: I am trying to find a connection between Nathan, Jemima and Manassa Jennings whom I believe are siblings. Nathan is my gr. gr. grandfather. He was born abt. 1815 in Ohio and lived his early years in Jefferson Co. OH. In 1850 he lived in Richland Co. OH, 1860 & 1870 - Ashland Co., OH then in 1880 in Wayne County OH. I can find no information on him after the 1880 Census. He 1st married Rachel Vail & had 3 children. She died in 1846. He then married Rebecca Burk(e) July 6, 1847 and had several more children. Jemima was born in OH and married James Gladden in Jefferson Co.OH. They moved in 1826 to Ashland Co. where they lived out their years. Jemima died about 1883 or 1887. Manassa was born in OH and married Phoebe Palmer in Jefferson Co. OH in the late 1830's. The 1840 Census has them in Jefferson Co. OH. For a time they lived in VA. The 1880 census has them in Athens Co. OH. About 4 of their daughters are living with Manassa ranging in age from early 30's to mid 20's. Nathan is my brick wall. I cannot find any record of parents or siblings and cannot find where or when he died. My feeling is that Nathan, Jemima and Manassa are siblings. They are close in age, lived in Jefferson Co. and, according to the 1880 Census, all their parents where born in NJ. I realize this is not, by any means, absolute proof of their relationship, but is does seem pretty coincidental and worth exploring. I would be happy to correspond with anyone who has information on the persons listed above or share information that I have. Regards, Michele Skolmutch Big Prairie, OH

Cyrus F. Buchanan married Elizabeth Jennings in 1850 , Ripley County IN. She died in 1859, we think in indianapolis and he remarried another Elizabeth , Elizabeth Kirby. The first marriage has Ezra, Eliza J. and possibly a WIlliam E. Buchanan. Second marriage had William, Jacob S. and John Henry Buchanan. Cyrus and his mother Jane and brother John A. Buchanan, were born in PA. So was Elizabeth Kirby daughter of Jacob and Harriet Wentworth Kirby. Jane Buchanan is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis beside William E. Buchanan who is either buried as a child or is buried with a child.Cyrus and John A. Buchanan were both Carpenters and are found in the city directories for many years. Cyrus F. Buchanan died in 1873, in Indianapolis and Elizabeth Kirby Buchanan married Charles P. Haskins. They both died in Utah, 1904. I would like to know what happened to the children. John Henry had a brother William who supposedly married and moved to Canada. Has anyone on this list ever joined the Buchanan Society? Did it help? Rose Adams in CA.
Hello, FYI - for some of you who may have tried to contact me directly There was some kind of glitching going on with my email for about a week or more and it may have had an error message that indicated that my email wasn't working correctly....not sure....anyway.....wanted to let those of you that I have been communicating with that my email is still correct as: BandB4951@aol.com and I am subscribing to some of the lists again, just in case, as it appears they are not functioning for me at this time. Thanks. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick - Barnett
I sure appreciate athe response on my "brick wall". Sorry I haven't responded back as quickly as you all did. You are the first one in probably a year that has had anything at all on Enos. Do you have any other info on their ancestors? If you need his decendants, let me know. Thanks again.......Lucy In a message dated 8/14/01 1:29:29 PM Central Daylight Time, anidjarT@netscape.net writes: > I have a Enos Jennings from Tennessee, brother of William B. Looking for ancestors of Mark Jennings bn ca 1807 possibly in KY or TN wife Anna Crouch. thanks ron
Telma, thanks, this is terrific. Are you saying that your Enos is the same as mine? If that is right, can you give me dates and other info the on the rest of the names you list? I had nothing on Enos except what I listed in the original email. I do have 3 more generations on Enos's spouse Alice Elizabeth McHone. Do you have any children for Enos. I have only 8 listed, one being my uncle who died pretty young back in the late 1950s. If indeed this is the same Enos, would you want the decendents of Enos?
