Seeking information about Daniel Jenkins, who leased land ca. 1765-1770 in Fairfax Co., VA -- in present-day Vienna. >From an index of Fairfax Deeds 1742-1797, Thomas Ludwell Lee registered leases of properties to several tenants at the same time -- some time between 1765 and 1770 -- the text of which were entered in the now-missing Deed Book H: "Lee, Thomas L. to Jacob Hubbard 93 same to Daniel Jenkins 98 same to Ralph Cotton 102 same to George Williams 107 same to Robert Davis 111 same to Sam'l Thompson 115 same to Thomas Lyister [Lester?] 119" This citation in this index is the first known record of my 5grgrandfather, George Williams. I have been researching these men on the premise that identifying where they came from might give me clues to where my George Williams might have been prior to this lease.
