    1. FROM VERSES BORN?
    2. Hi guys, Now I have another question: The clerk of our courts said the marriage certificate was issued "where the bride was from"...(not the groom)....ok, so does that mean that the bride was born in the place where the marriage certificate was issued....or....was she/ and or her family just "living" in a place for a while and that is why the marriage certificate is issued there? I ask this because I have a problem. (naturally, don't I always! smile!) On Joseph's death certificate, his second wife Nellie wrote that Joseph's parents were from "VA"....then I find the marriage certficate was issued from Gates County, NC... I checked the book on census records of Gates County, NC at the library and found Harrison and Nancy, their ages, the year was 1850....and by their names it says they were from.."VA"...(I love it, now I am back in VA looking for where they are from???) My husband says maybe they were "just born in VA and lived in Gates County, NC and grew up there.....if I can find out the answer to the above question...then I will know if the book has a type-O...and maybe they were from NC instead. See what I mean? So, now I don't know if my great great grand parents were from VA or NC....and checking wills from both states and every county in each state will drive me bananas. If anyone knows the answer to this one please post to the list, I am sure we all need this answer. Thanks again, Susan of Tidewater VA
