Been so busy checking out all the rest, I forgot to post my own....so here goes! Thanks to [email protected] one.net (Alton) for posting the info on OUR g-g-g-g-g grandfather, William Jenkins. Will repeat some of his and add a bit more.... Our William Jenkins served in the North Carolina Continental Line from 1777 to 1779/80 as a private under Col. Edward Buncombe in the 5th Regiment of Blount's Company. In 1788 he was awarded a Land Warrant(#600) for some 274 acres in what is now Jackson County, TN. We believe that William moved from Rowan County, NC to Jackson County, TN (then Smith County) between 1790-95. William died in TN in 1807.
