I have been going through old letters re: JENKINS that I have received over the past 25 + years (giving my age away) ... These are not my lines and I don't know if the info is correct or not ... Just thought it might lead someone in the right direction before I throw them out: Received this in 1974 from a Miss Laura Evins of La Pryor, TX : "My mother's great-grandfather, Greenberry JENKINS, was born in Old Pendleton District, SC on Nov. 30, 1810. His father was Lewis JENKINS, born Nov. 15, 1786 in Georgia. Richard JENKINS, Lewis JENKINS' father came from Wales and was born about 1761. Lewis moved his family to Morgan County, AL when Greenberry was in his teens. On March 25, 1830 Greenberry married Elizabeth Medford. Their first 5 children were born in Morgan County, AL; the next 5 in Texas in the area of what is now Cherokee County. After Elizabeth's death, Greenberry married Mary Rosanna Love Evans, a widow. They had 3 children; the oldest, Charles Pinkney JENKINS, was my great-grandfather." As I said before - these are NOT my line of JENKINS - just passing the info on ... Will see what else I can find before I toss ... Amy [email protected]
