Poor RACHEL JENKINS!! She has no parents or siblings. According to her tombstone in Unitia Cem - Louden CO, TN she was born 13 July 1783, but it is more likely she was born in 1780. She died 5 Dec, 1865. Family lore has been that Rachel's father was Rollen/Rowland Jenkins of Washington CO, TN (the part that later became Carter CO). One researcher has told me he does not think that Rollen was her father from the research he has done. Rowland/Rollen Jenkins wife was Jane Welch. Rachel and her husband, Viney Griffitts of Wythe CO VA, named their 1st dght, Jane. They named a son, Rollen, and had a grandson named Rollen Jenkins Griffitts. Viney's brother-in-law, Joseph Sands, rec'd a land grant that adjoined Roland Jinkins and John Cains in Carter CO, TN dated 6 June 1799. IF Rachel was not the dght of Rowland and Jane Jenkins then WHO WERE HER PARENTS? Any help appreciated including locating the marriage license bond for Rachel and Viney Griffitts. Regards, Bettye
