    3. I'd like to add my very limited Jenkins information to this roll call. From Polk Co., TN Census, 11 Oct 1850, 3rd Civil Dist., p. 222 422/426 JENKINS, John 46 Farmer TN b. 1805 Cynthia 46 TN b. 1805 Easter 20 TN b. 14 Apr 1830 Russell 17 TN b. 1833 Nancy 13 TN b. 1837 Nelley 10 TN b. 1840 John 7 TN b. 1843 William 5 TN b. 1845 In 1860 this family was in Bradley Co., TN. Only John and William were still at home with their parents, John and Cynthia (Sitha ?) JENKINS> Easter JENKINS, b. 14 Apr 1830 Cocke Co., TN - d. 4 May 1917 Polk Co., TN married Samuel YATES abt 1851. Their children: John, Nancy Ellen, Thomas Jefferson, Martha Matilda and William Morris YATES. Nancy JENKINS, b. abt 1837 Cocke Co., TN - d. 11 May 1864 Bradley Co., TN. married Pascal P. POINDEXTER, b. abt 1830 Surry Co., NC - d. 13 Mar 1865, Cleveland, Bradley Co., TN. Their children: Elizabeth, b. 9 Jul 1857, Polk Co., TN William Henry, b. 5 Mar 1860, Polk Co., TN Mary Elender, b. 2 Dec 1862, Dekalb Co., AL Nancy and Pascal are my GGGrandparents. Nancy died about a year before Pascal was killed during the Civil War, leaving the children orphans. According to military records - Nancy's father, John JENKINS, received Pascal POINDEXTER's belongings from the Army after his death. John JENKINS also filed for (and received) pension in behalf of the orphaned children. I have done very little on this line but would like to pursue it. I have read all the other Roll Call information sent in and I don't see anything that seems to connect to my line. However, my information does not reach back beyond 1850 census. Here's hoping someone will recognize my folks. ClaudineP
