    1. EDMUND JENKINS GLOUCESTER VA and ??
    2. Tim Jenkins
    3. Hello All, My husband Tim Jenkins and I are still looking for information on the ~lost~ Jenkins line from Gloucester VA. Any help would be great. It has been 2+ years now that I have been looking and have had lots of help, but still can not find inforamtion on Edmund. Cy Rilee (of GLOUCESTER VA) found the 1860 census record. :) (Thank you ALL who have already helped me in this search). Thank you, Teresa Here is a general outline: EDMUND JENKINS b. abt 1815 wife MARTHA J? child BENJAMIN FRANKLIN JENKINS (there are more children) **marriage place and date unknown** **marriage place and date unknown** BENJAMIN FRANKLIN JENKINS b.1860 d. 1941 sp. REBECCA JANE BLAKE b. 1868 d. 1936 f. Thomas B. Blake m. Eliza Rebecca Coleman census 1850 GLOUCESTER VA EDMUND JENKINS: Household # 481: Edmund Jenkins, age 35, a fisherman, Martha J., age 23 John E., age 6 months Elizabeth, age 8 Virginia, age 6 "The arrangement of the youngest child first seems unusual (written by Cy Rilee) . Is it possible that John is their son, and that Elizabeth and Virginia are Edmund's children by an earlier wife". census Cy also found them in 1860, but Edmund is now listed as James E. Jenkins. + 1860 GLOUCESTER VA Household # 270 James E, fishes/oysters--could this still be (Edmund) Jenkins?? Martha J. John E., age 10 James G., age 7 Martha A.R., age 5 Indiana, age 2 census 1870 GLOUCESTER VA EDMUND JENKINS 56 MARTHA 45 JOHN E 20 JAMES 18 INDIANNA 15 MARTHA A 12 BENJAMIN 9 census 1890 GLOUCESTER VA Edmund and benjamin Jenkins are NOT in the 1890 census GLOUCESTER ** If you know anything about this line please write to me.** THE death certificate of BENJAMIN F. JENKINS was a bit odd in many ways. death Oct. 6, 1941 chronic nephritis widowed ***it listed his him as: **** B. S. Jenkins then crossed out the "S" and put a **F**. wife at time of death Rebecca father: as E. C. JENKINS mother: unknown informant: Campbell Jenkins ( we have no idea who CAMPBELL JENKINS is, or how he is related if at all) one of the marriages of Edmunds kids but Edmund is too young to have George as a son. George was born about 183? ***copied from the Gloucester marriages by: Susan Haywood*** Geo. W. Jenkins, ae 47y, widower, oysterman, s/o Edmund & Martha Jenkins; Louisa Walker, ae 45y, widow of Peter Walker, of Easternshore MD, parents unk; Oct 20 1872 by Rev. James C. Martin. Rebecca Walker: wife of Benjamin F Jenkins: death record Rebecca Walker d. Aug. 18, 1896 age: 45y cause: Dropsy informant : Edmond Jenkins (father), and **Sarah consort: Samuel B. Walker (husband) *(2nd Wife of James T. Jenkins: (middle initial has been listed as *G* as well)Sarah E. Jenkins Edmund Jenkins, Martha Walker: in one of the deaths of EDMUND'S kids the people who reported the death were EDMUND & MARTHA JENKINS example: John W. Jenkins ( initial different on this child too) d. Aug. 18, 1887 age: 33y cause: heart disease informant : Edmund & Martha Jenkins consort: **Lucy Jenkins **(Lucy Shackelford) names of *parents* listed on some of the children who are Edmund/Edward Edmund Jerkins + massy = George w Jerkins abt. 1830 child/ren james t Jerkins 1853 and Rebecca ann Jerkins abt 1855 parents: EDMUND and MARTHA WALKER child Elizabeth ann 1842 parents: EDMUND and ANN Virginia Susan Jenkins 1844 EDWARD JENKINS and Nancy "Ann" East Many have **Edward** listed as the father of Benjamin F Jenkins, or they have *Bailey Jenkins* as the father, but the census and the fact that the **other** Benjamin F Jenkins from Gloucester was living in Norfolk area still married to another woman during the same time **our** Benjamin F Jenkins was found in Gloucester with Rebecca as his wife proves otherwise. He didn't have three wives. The other Benjamin F. Jenkins had 2 wives due to the death of his first wife. Edmund looks like Edward Jenkins in some of the census ( so I can see why he could be listed other ways).
