    1. Jenkins, GA>AL, 1812-present
    2. Hi, I am researching the descendants of William J. and Elizabeth ? Jenkins. They had 14 children according to the 1900 AL Census. 7 were living and 7 were deceased. One apparently died between census years. The 8 below are the ones I am stuck on, the other 6 will be after the "lost" ones and also additionally information. 1. Malinda (abt 1848, GA; d. unknown), married Alfred Davis, June 30 1874 in Calhoun Co., AL. On the 1880 Cherokee Co., AL census they had one daughter, Tempy, b. abt 1878. They were living at Beat 7. This is the Piedmont area that is on the Calhoun/Cherokee line. I can't find her buried in either county. I can't find a marriage record of the daughter or her buried anywhere. 2. Sarah (b. abt 1850, GA; d. unknown) The last census I find her on is the 1880 Calhoun Co., AL living with her mother. They were at Beat 1, which I believe is Jacksonville, AL. I have no other information on her. No marriage record or death date. 3. George J. (b. abt 1853, GA; d. unknown) The last census I have him is 1870 Calhoun Co., AL in Jacksonville. 4. Hannah E. (b. abt 1859, AL; d. unknown) She married Thomas A. Hill (b. abt 1856) Sept. 6, 1877 in Calhoun Co., AL. The last census I find them on is the 1880 Calhoun Co., AL. They too were living at Beat 1. They had one son, John (b. abt 1879, AL). No more information on them. 5. James J. (b. Nov 11, 1860, AL; d. Feb 23, 1921, AL) married Alice Badgett (b. July 2, 1865, AL; d. Jul 14, 1926) Dec 25, 1887 in Calhoun Co., AL. They both are buried at Walnut Spring Cemetery in Jacksonville, Calhoun Co., AL. I am looking for their daughters: a)Mollie B. (b. Jul 29, 1890, AL; d. Feb 12, 1947, AL) buried at Edgemont Cemetery, Anniston, Calhoun Co., AL) She never married. b)Lizzie (b. Sept 1892) appears on the 1910 census, but not after that. No marriage record or death date found. c)Cora (bApril 1895), same as Lizzie. d)Willie (b Dec 1897) She was living with Mollie in 1920. Can't find a marriage record or death date on Willie. e)Winnie (b. May 1900) Can't find after 1910. No marriage record or death date. 6. Susan (b. abt 1864, AL; d. unknown) The last I know of her is that she is living with Malinda in Cherokee Co., AL in 1880. No more on her. 7. Emma (b. Apr 14, 1864, AL; d. Jul 13, 1920, AL) married William S. Stephens (b. Nov 1870, GA) Mar 15, 1899 in Calhoun Co., AL. The last time I find them are in 1900 in Calhoun Co., Precinct 1, which I think is Jacksonville. Living with them is Linda (b. Nov 1889) She is listed as a daughter, but apparently is not the daughter of William, but no other last name is listed. Emma is buried at Walnut Spring Cemetery in Jacksonville and beside her is a child, William Ed Stephens (b. Feb 4, 1907; d. Oct 21, 1918). I can't find them after 1900. The son would be listed in 1910, but can't find them. 8. Millie (b. Dec 1868, AL; d. unknown) Millie was living with her mother in 1900 in Jacksonville, Calhoun Co., AL. Elizabeth lists a granddaughter, Mary B. (b. Jan 1887, AL) also living with her, which is the daughter of Millie. In 1870 Millie is listed as Millie, in 1880 it is Mattie, and in 1900 it is Mittie. So, I am not sure of her exact name. No more information on either of them. The other siblings are: (Which I have additionally information on) 9. William W. (b. abt 1842, GA; d. May 20, 1862, VA) He died in a hospital of disease during the war. Don't know where he is buried. No more information on him though. 10. Margaret (b. Apr 20, 1945, GA; d. Jul 25, 1917, AL) married White Marable Apr 2, 1865, Calhoun Co., AL. Had 3 children. Married James M. Badgett Jan 14, 1883, Calhoun Co., AL. 11. Levi Walter (b. May 2, 1855, GA; d. Both are buried at Highland Cemetery, Piedmont, Calhoun Co., AL. They had no children. I know he had a 1st wife and they had children, but I don't have the information, but know someone who does because he researches the Evans family. 13. Andrew Jack (b. abt 1857, AL; d. before 1900) married Annie Young. Another cousin is researching him as he is her ggrandfather. 14. Unknown Other facts: Father - William J. (b. Feb 10, 1812, TN; d. Mar 15, 1877, AL) Mother - Elizabeth ? (b. June 1826, GA; d. Aug 6, 1900, AL) Both are buried at Walnut Spring Cemetery, Jacksonville, Calhoun Co., AL.
