I have a Bible that contains a Jenkins name. I have not found any Genealogy stuff in it. I have been going through it page by page. It is a small pocket size Illustrated Holy Bible. In the front Cover it says on the Left side, " From Will to Wife". On the Right side, "Be long to Mrs. Jenkins 81 Griffith St. Rochester, NY. In the middle of the Bible is a picture postcard with Two Men standing outside on a breezy day (there ties are blown to there right sides). The man on the Left is wearing a White Shirt with striped tie and Black dress pants. His hands are in his pockets. The Man on the Right is wearing a darker shirt (probably blue or brown) with a lighter colored tie (probably a lighter blue or brown by the contrast) and dark colored pants (like a work pant style) with a lighter colored pair of suspenders than the tie. His hands are also in his pockets. Behind the Man on the Left is a mail box and the rest of the picture just shows open rolling acres with a few trees. There is no writing on the Post Card. I would say it is from the early 1900's because of the style and the type of photograph, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. I'm just guessing. Is there anything that sounds familiar to you? The Bible itself is black leather (well worn) from Thomas Nelson & Sons in New York 381 - 385 Forth Avenue. It also states on the same page " Appointed to be read in Churches". In the Psalms 90 - 91 pages I found a stuck Postage Stamp - a 3 cent George Washington. In the back cover, there are some scripture references (some that I can't understand). I talked to my Mother in Law (Jenkins name is from her Mother). She thought that the Jenkins were from Wales. I thought I should look and see if there is a local newspaper that would have an obituary that might give more clues. The Jenkins I have start with William A. Jenkins (b. 1851) that married a Miranda Winchell (b. 1857) and they had 6 children all in NY (Ellen, Avery, George, Lydi, Ormus, and William). If any of this sounds familiar, i would greatly appreciate any additional clues on this family. Thanks in Advance. Lois Lane Lois J.
