    3. Sarah may have been the older sister of my GGgrandmother Nancy Jenkins Marrs who was born in 1797 and died in 1878 in Fayetteville, WVa. I have a picture of her as an old lady. Jane McGeorge is named in the family bible as the mother of Nancy Jenkins. There is certainly a wall surrounding this Jenkins family but I feel sure there is someone out there that has the key to the backdoor. My Ggrandfather John Marrs and Nancy's brother Fountain were life long friends and business partners. James Jenkins, said to be a brother of Nancy Jenkins Marrs, married John's sister Rebecca. They and many other families moved to Michigan in the 1820-1840 period. I believe John Jenkins Jr. who is said to have married a Mary Huddleston moved to Ohio or Indiana and his home was the stopping place for other family members when they moved to the frontier in Michigan. All of John Marrs' brothers moved to Berrien Co. Michigan/ Terra Haute, Ind. The confusion about John Jenkins and his family arise from books written 50-80 years after he died by the child/children of a first daughter. These documents totally ignore what has to be the second family. There is a family story about the Marrs brothers visiting their Jenkins cousins in Ind. and in Mo. Alot of the above is my speculation about bits and pieces of information I have gathered over 20 years. I wonder if there were two John Jenkins. My Great grandfather described the burial place and I have visited it. The local genealogical society has found his grave with marker (1755-1831) Jives with his estate inventory dates and explains the abrupt ending of his pension application for his Revolutionary War service. On page #127 it says Amos (my husbands ancestor) was a son of John and Betsy (Huddleston) Jenkins of Bedford County, Virginia. Amos was married September 10, 1805 to Hester Huddleston of Kanawha County, Virginia. I also wopuld love to find out more info on this family. Perhaps we're researching the same Jenkins family.
