It seems to me that for us whose past-time is finding clues to hundreds of Jenkins, living hundreds of years ago, and hundreds of miles away, can't find a Jenkins e-mail on a screen in front of our nose without JENKINS in the subject line. My biggest peeve is receiving a request for help giving just a common name and no dates or locations. Like: "Does anyone know my g-gd John Jenkins ?" Dennis in Union City©
Well, I really hate to make any additions to the numerous e-mails received by some of the people on this list, BUT, unfortunately I must. I really want to remain on this list (and I will, no matter how snippy people get) so that I just might be able to share information or learn more about my ancestors; however, the message "right in front of my nose" seems to be from people that I don't know from Adam. Fact is, I know Adam, but I don't know them! When the [Jenkins] was in the subject line, at least I knew that I could trust the sending source (roots list). There are a lot of folks out there, friends, and I don't trust the entire world to allow their messages access to My computer. Some of you may be receiving the rootsweb message with the name where it can be seen before the message is opened, but it's not coming to me that way as it used to, and as I understand it, there are several others making the same request. Thanxs! ----- Original Message ----- From: Dennis <paugh@webtv.net> To: <JENKINS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2001 9:09 AM Subject: [JENKINS] ON SUBJECT LINE > It seems to me that for us whose past-time is finding clues to hundreds > of Jenkins, living hundreds of years ago, and hundreds of miles away, > can't find a Jenkins e-mail on a screen in front of our nose without > JENKINS in the subject line. > My biggest peeve is receiving a request for help giving just a common > name and no dates or locations. Hi, I haven't seen any response from the list admin. Is there a list admin for this list?
