    2. Patricia A. Jones
    3. My husband is a ggrandson of Thomas D. Jenkins & his wife Jane. I am just beginning this branch. I have some info on the children of this couple. But the dates may be off for now until I can verify them. I ckd the OHS site and found the d/c # for Thomas, but I am somewhat confused on Jane. I have her as dying 1 Feb 1922 and the OHS site has a Jane Jenkins dying in Gallia Co OH 1923. I can ck that next time. Just wanted to get myself out and started on this line. I may have been to Nebo I am not sure. I have been so several down in that area, but the ones I remember the most area Centerpoint, Thurman, Bathania and Moraih (Jackson) So hello Jenkins family searchers. I hope to catch up on this line soon. What I would like to know most is Where Thomas D came from, What is Jane's maiden name and where she came from. Their daughter Rachel Jenkins married Evan Jones and were my husband's paternal grandparents.

    1. Southeast VA and Northeast NC families
    2. Tim, In order to document my Jenkins, I've found that I've had to do research on every Jenkins in Southeast VA and NE North Carolina. Once I matched them up and then by process of elimination, I was able to document who they belonged to. It's a lot of research, but the only way that's been productive for me. By researching the families this way, the Jenkins that you sent in to the list (that were on the Norfolk City directories) can be easily matched up to their families. Then you can see whose not accounted for and go from there. I could tell you who I've matched up so far, but I'm not that familiar with FTM and sending files. Also when someone sends you their line, you can eliminate them as possible candidates for your own ancestors. If everyone has a piece of the puzzle, but no one wants to put their piece together to make a complete picture, then I've found that I've had to go and find all the puzzle pieces for myself. This might be the only way you'll find your ancestors too. I'm just about done with all of my genealogy, and when I'm finished, I'm sending it in to FTM and to the Mormon Church. I'll let you know when I do and maybe you can take a look at the ones I've matched up and see if yours seem to fit in anywhere. I was blessed to have a lady in Gates County put all the Jenkins people together for me before she died and all the work I did proves her out. Hope this helps some, Susan of Tidewater VA

    3. Here is my JENKINS brickwall. Anyone out thar researching this family? Any assistance would greatly be appreciated. Bill Ikerd Emporia, KS I believe the below census is my William Jenkins, but can't find the two children in the 1870 Gibson Co., IN Federal census where William and Harriett are at that time. !RESIDENCES: 1860 TN Federal Census (by Sistler) Knox Co. 235-320. Jenkins, William 23 , Harriet 27 , James 4 , Eveline 1 ACTION: I need to find out what happened to James and Eveline, neither were on the 1870 Gibson Co., IN Federal Census (below).
