    3. This was on another list. Search Systems http://www.pac-info.com/ Created and maintained by Pacific Information Resources, this useful metasite links to a wide array of free searchable public record databases, more than 1,500 in all. The links are organized geographically, with nation-wide databases for the US and Canada, and state databases broken down into state-wide, county, and city. The number of databases listed for each state varies widely, but most include property records, court dockets and filings, professional licenses, and administrative code. Other databases include city job postings, restaurant inspections, most wanted, inmate locator, lottery winning numbers, toxic release inventory, births and deaths, and charitable organizations, among many others. At time of review, a few broken links were found, but most operated correctly. A New Sites section lists the latest additions, and users can sign-up for free email notification of additions to the site. [MD] H

    1. Jenkins Family in NY
    2. Lois J Lane
    3. I have a Bible that contains a Jenkins name. I have not found any Genealogy stuff in it. I have been going through it page by page. It is a small pocket size Illustrated Holy Bible. In the front Cover it says on the Left side, " From Will to Wife". On the Right side, "Be long to Mrs. Jenkins 81 Griffith St. Rochester, NY. In the middle of the Bible is a picture postcard with Two Men standing outside on a breezy day (there ties are blown to there right sides). The man on the Left is wearing a White Shirt with striped tie and Black dress pants. His hands are in his pockets. The Man on the Right is wearing a darker shirt (probably blue or brown) with a lighter colored tie (probably a lighter blue or brown by the contrast) and dark colored pants (like a work pant style) with a lighter colored pair of suspenders than the tie. His hands are also in his pockets. Behind the Man on the Left is a mail box and the rest of the picture just shows open rolling acres with a few trees. There is no writing on the Post Card. I would say it is from the early 1900's because of the style and the type of photograph, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. I'm just guessing. Is there anything that sounds familiar to you? The Bible itself is black leather (well worn) from Thomas Nelson & Sons in New York 381 - 385 Forth Avenue. It also states on the same page " Appointed to be read in Churches". In the Psalms 90 - 91 pages I found a stuck Postage Stamp - a 3 cent George Washington. In the back cover, there are some scripture references (some that I can't understand). I talked to my Mother in Law (Jenkins name is from her Mother). She thought that the Jenkins were from Wales. I thought I should look and see if there is a local newspaper that would have an obituary that might give more clues. The Jenkins I have start with William A. Jenkins (b. 1851) that married a Miranda Winchell (b. 1857) and they had 6 children all in NY (Ellen, Avery, George, Lydi, Ormus, and William). If any of this sounds familiar, i would greatly appreciate any additional clues on this family. Thanks in Advance. Lois Lane Lois J. 1. HUGH JENKINS in NC and TN
    2. Bettye Heinrich
    3. I am trying to learn where the information came from that proves Hugh Jenkins was b 12 March 1769 in Rowan Co NC. He was the son of Rowland Jenkins and Jane Cunningham, early residents of Rowan Co NC and Carter Co TN. Hugh m. Gracie McQueen. Today I rec'd copies of the papers for the settlement of Jane Cunnigham's father's estate. In August 1769 she and her brother, Hugh Cunningham, jointly signed a legal document stating that they were residents of Earl twp, Lancaster Co PA. I also have the record of Jane's marriage to Rowland Jenkins which states the couple appeared 3 Sundays in a row to express their intent to marry and did so on 20 September 1769 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, Lancaster Co PA. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that is descended from Hugh or has knowledge about him. Thanks, Bettye

    3. Can't help with Mary "Polly" Jenkins tonight, but can tell you that William Perkins migrated into the Edgecombe-Halifax County area around 1760. By 1783, there were three members of the Perkins' family listed on the N.C. taxpayer's list as living in Halifax County: William, Henry Sr. and Henry Jr. I will talk to my new found cousin, Tom Aiken, who has Jenkins info--maybe something on Mary "Polly" and get back to you as soon as I can. 2. tpatters
    3. Fellow Jenkins Family Members, I am looking for information on a Jenkins family who left the south part of Wales between 1863-1870 to come to America. SOLOMON JENKINS (my great great grandfather) became a naturalized citizen in Mahoning County Ohio in October 1974. His son, WILLIAM JENKINS, was my great grandfather. William was one of supposedly 12 children and was born in Wales on December 7, 1856. They were both coal miners. William left Ohio and traveled to Illinois (Braidwood, IL) where he married Alice Reed. They had two children, Nell and Henry. Henry was born in 1885 after they had moved to Louisiana. Alice died and William remarried in 1892. He married Sarah Rees. He and Sarah had 6 children. If any of these names sound familiar, please contact me. I have run against a brick wall in my research and need a little help. Trudy Jenkins Patterson Elton, Louisiana tpatters@pelican.state.lib.la.us

    1. ELEANOR ANN JENKINS
    2. ndenton
    3. Looking for any connection to ELEANOR JENKINS. One source lists her middle name as Ann, while another had her listed as Eleanor H. Jenkins. I don't know which or even if either is correct. The first I know of her is that she married Alexander Lawful Bain in New York City on 16 Sept. 1844.The marrage was at the Amity Street Baptist Church N.Y. City. I've contacted the main office that would hold these records since the church is no longer there. Could not find anything. I do not know any thing about her family or if she was born there or what. Alexander Lawful Bain came from Scotland to Canada and then New York City. While there Alexander and Eleanor had five of their seven daughters, before moving to Nebraska City, Neb. Think they moved from New York @1857/58 as another daughter was born in Lincoln Neb. in 1859. Their daughters were: Mary Jane (Jeanette?) Bain b. 1846 Kings Cty NY m. I have tried to find the marriage register of Alexander and Eleanor to no avail. Need any clues on Eleanor..... Thank you. Peggy in K.C.
