I have been searching for the family of Margaret Jenkins for some time now. Here is what I have: Margaret B. Jenkins was married to Edmund Allen in Loudoun Co. VA on 8 March 1832. The marriage book has a John Butler listed as guardian. An essay, written about Margaret and Edmund's son-in-law (Ephraim Clarke Watson) lists Margaret as Margaret (Beavers) Allen. Edmund and Margaret had 14 children and Jenkins is not used as a first or middle name in any of them. They did have a daughter that they named Margaret Beavers Allen. Now for my question, was Jenkins a first marriage for Margaret? Was she an orphan, thus requiring a guardian or did a first marriage end somehow leaving her property that needed a guardian to oversee? Since the marriage book does not state which party had the guardian, John could have been for Edmund. John Butler was also the guardian for William H. Smith (marriage to Emily Grimes, 1841). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am hoping the someone sees a name that they have in their family. Any help is most appreciated. Thank You, Janice Hoover
Hope this be of help. Betty in Idaho http://home.att.net/~wee-monster/onlinelists.html

List - The family site for Jenkins/Jinkins of Western Maryland was finally finished. For some reason my GEDCOM wouldn't upload to it but will upload it in the future to a site on Genealogy.com. If there are any familiar names or you have the answer to one of those people who only show up once, let me know. Doret Jenkins http://www.doretjenk1.tripod.com/Jenkinshistory/
All: I've been promising this for quite a while, but finally, here is the URL to my genealogy page. Anyway, I finally got a few minutes to spare and was able to work on my web page(s) and talk my ISP into giving me some space to publish it on. Give it a try. It's sort of "down and dirty", but as as I get more info into the branches, I'll add more stuff and refine it somewhat. I figured if I didn't go ahead and publish it in any form, I'd procrastinate forever. There are a couple of link buttons on it to automatically open an e-mail to me. Feel free to use it often. I have some info that I've not been able to substantiate, but I may put a page up that just contains that info, so that folks can see if they recognize anyone on the unlinked lists. Feel free to copy and use the info as you wish. I've gotten almost all of it from other researchers, or from a lot of legwork around the courthouses of West Virginia. At some time in the near future, I plan on making a section of the page that will allow folks to download copies of my GED files. That's a project that I'm reserving for a real cold and lousy day diring this winter. The way the weather's been here lately, that might not be too far in the future. Surnames are: Hartman, Nicholas, Keller, Miller, Lemerton (LeMertrin), Rodeheaver, Yagle, Sypolt, Martin, Wynne(Wine), Rogers, Jenkins, Southworth, Lane, Criss, Jones, Perine, Tingler, Gaston, Stephen, Nicholas, Carter, McCuan, McGarry, Harter, Hurst, Fittro. Here's the site URL: www.sbccom.com/hartman Good luck all, and give me your feedback. Joe Hartman Morgantown, WV -- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
