Dear List, I am reposting my brick wall since its been awhile. I am looking for the ancestors of my gg grandfather Obadiah Jenkins born abt 1836 probably Benton County Tenn married to Elizabeth Newton. Obadiah's father may have been Wyatt Jenkins married to an Elizabeth. Wyatt and Elizabeth had at least 12 children and lived in Benton County Tenn at least from 1836 to 1859 before moving to Johnson County, Ill. by 1860. Elizabeth was a widow by 1860, so am wondering what happened to Wyatt? I believe Wyatt was born in Virginia about 1805. Question is: Is my Obadiah the son of Wyatt? And who were Wyatt's parents? Does anyone know? Thanks Kristy
Is anyone doing any work on the Jenkins family of Edisto Island, SC? Have much information but always need more. Especially when John Jenkins and his brothers came to this country exactly and if they migrated to SC from another state. Bouy
Barbara - My great, great grandmother was Elizabeth JENKINS. She was born 27 Sept 1793 in Guilford Co, NC. She was supposed the "daughter of a prominent Methodist clergyman of that localilty". She married John D. REED18 Aug 1816 in Guilford Co, NC. They moved to what is now Randolph Co, MO in 1819, probably because John D. REED received land there for fighting in the War of 1812. Any clue as to her parents would be appreaciated. Cecy Rice, Randolph Co, MO.
