JARRELL 1850 census Randolph co, NC page 285 1860 census Randolph co, NC page 41 1850 census has name as Tilman, 1860 census has name as Filmon. Tillman served in Co. I, 22nd Regt. NC troops. 23 Apr 1864 - Enlisted at Camp Holmes for the War 18 Jun 1864 - Deserted 10 Sep 1864 - returned to duty under the terms of the amnesty. 3 Apr 1865 - captured at the Appomattox River Virginia. 19 Jun 1865 - released from Hart's Island, New York Harbor after taking the Oath of Allegience. notes supplied by Wallace Eugene Jarrell, 17 Jul 1998: Tillman Jarrell went to Durham after the war for a short while, but was back in Randolph Co. by the 1870 Census.
