My husband, daughter and I attended her services in Shreveport. It was a beautiful celebration of a life lived for Christ. When we got to the funeral home, family members informed us that one of the surving sisters, Geneva, had died the day before, March 12. She had been ill with cancer for several years. Now there is only one surving child of Simeon and Isabella Barton Jarrell's nine. She is my Great Aunt Ida Lee. She is 96 years young and made the trip from Hot Springs, AR to Shreveport for her sister's funeral. They were a beautiful family and had a great influence on the lives of the direct family and extended family as well. I remember when, as a child, someone in my family had a crisis, health issues or emotional or financial, my mother or grandmother would say, "We need to call Hot Springs and get them to pray."
