Won't vouch for the totality of it but it does lend to some thought. The Jarrell researcher I corresponded with was researching Jarrells in England. The Jarrells he was looking at came from Lincolnshire. He informed me that there was/is a place there that they refer to as Holland. This has made for some headaches for me and some serious thought on the matter. If John was from Holland wouldn't he have shipped out from Amsterdam or another Dutch port, rather than the Isle of Wight? Other Jarrell researchers have looked at Holland and found no Jarrells there. At the time of his immigration to the Americas he landed at a British port, probably on a British ship and dealt with British authorities. When asked where he was from might he not have told them Holland (Lincolnshire) and expected them to know where he was talking about? Don't we tell folks we are from Dallas, DC, LA, Miami, etc..? We all know where those places are. Like I said, tho I don't vouch for this theory since I can't find anything on John anyway, before he arrived here. He was a bonded servant tho, right? In Isle of Wight County, VA?
