    3. Mobile Register 4/28/2008 - 4/29/2008 Marvin O.V. Jarrell-Age 80. A long time resident of Mobile, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 at home surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Jarrell was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Navy and was a retired pipe fitter. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Prine, his parents, George and Alice Jarrell and is survived by his wife, Jean M. Jarrell of Mobile; his children, Debra (Don) Pearson of Mobile, Sandra Retif of Slidell, LA; brother, Vaudie Jarrell of Picayunne, MS; sister, Josie Brown of Picayune, MS; grandchildren Justin (Valerie) Prine of Mobile, Ryan Prine of Mobile, Chase Ray of Mobile and Lindsey Retif of Slidell, LA; great grandchild, Conner Prine of Mobile; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Cobb officiating. Interment will be held in Pine Crest West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon until service time. Pallbearers will be Justin Prine, Ryan Prine, Don Pearson, Robert Smith, Steve McComb and Rick Retif. (251)653-4781 =================================================================== The Picayune Item Thelma Jarrell CARRIERE— Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Lee's chapel #1 Baptist Church for Thelma Jarrell, 79, of Carriere, who died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2006. The Rev. Harry Burge officiated at the service, assisted by the Rev. Donnie Boutwell. Burial is in Holiman Cemetery in McNeill under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. A native of Carriere, she was a homemaker and a member of Lee's Chapel #1 Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Vaudie Jarrell of Carriere; a daughter, Rita Jo Jarrell Berry of Carriere; a son, Reggie Jarrell of Carriere; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at the funeral home and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the church.
