It was originally owned by William and Susannah Curtice. Jeremiah Jarrell purchased the Curtice tract of 110 ac in 1812. James Jarrell, son of Jeremiah, bought 183 ac. in 1833. The will of James Jarrell dated 1869, probated in 1870 establishes part of the Jarrell genealogy. Children named are: Elizabeth J. Breeden; Sentha J. Taylor, Harriet J; Jeremiah S; Sarah A. J. Jasper and William. This house is still standing and in quite good repair. To be honest I found the picture and article in the Madison Co. library and my husband and I got the survey plat w/deed and by luck happened upon the house. I have both still. One can see area's where there are depressions (old graves).
