Her death was due to the infirmities od age. She was tenderly nursed and cared for by her daughters Mrs. Rosie Jarrell and Mrs. Sallie Slaughter and sister Mrs. Edith Slaughter, besides many other relatives and friends; but she had lived over her allotted three score and ten and God saw fit to take her home. She was a loving and devoted mother, a kind and obliging neighbor. She will be greatly missed in her home and community. She leaves to mourn their loss six children, Mrs Sallie Slaughter and Mrs Rosie Jarrell of Fletcher, Mrs. Hattie Blackenbaker of Madison, Mrs. Nannie Slaughter of Orange, Mr. T. A. Jarrell of Graves Mill, Mr. Willie Jarrell of Fletcher; one sister, Mrs. Edith Slaughter, and two brothers, Messrs. A.B. Kirtley of Fletcher and Daniel Kirtley of Keyser, West Virginia; and many grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon September 12 in the family graveyard at Mr. Allen Slaughter's. Rev. Mr. Coats conducted the burial service. Dearest Mother; Thou hast left us and thy loss we feel deeply. I'm home from the hospital but I watched too much TV 11 Sep 2001 and now I'm suffering a bit of depression. I'm probably not going to da anything on the computer today but I'll probably give it a go on Thursday. My diagnose was not heart (as I told everyone it wasn't) but a hiatal hernia. My wife and my pastor forced me to go<G>. They just don't understand - I'M a Man! I know when I'm in enough pain to go to the Emergency Room (where it took me 7 minutes to go thru triage, EKG, and be assigned a room) The triage nurse took me ahead of 11 other persons including two who had arrived my ambulances. Anyway - I am hale and hearty (told-em-so<G>)! and I will try to get back to doing something tomorrow.
